A species of red colobus monkey has been declared extinct. This is the first primate that has gone extinct in the last hundred years.

For the uninitiated, we lose dozens of species each day, but because primates are so close to us on the evolutionary food chain…

True. It’s easy to forget that the 21st century doesn’t start till Jan 1, 2001. If I recall correctly, there are still some primates that are MIA. They haven’t been seen for a while. It may be that they’re extinct as well.

As far as extinct species, it is an increible loss, but I think there are more species extict now that we have never known about than those we know existed and gone extinct. Shit, that’s so confusing, this whole paragraph shoul dbe ext…
