The Flash Season 4

Well, that’s because he’s not Plastic Man. He’s the other stretchy guy, destined to be stuck on crowd control with Michael Carter because, as J’onn J’onzz has/will put it, “we don’t need two stretchy guys”.

Michael Carter? Are you talking about Green Lantern?

Michael Jon Carter.

The Greatest Story Never Told

But I was in error, it was Jon Stewart telling Ralph Dibny that two stretchy guys weren’t needed.

Look! Up in the sky!
It’s a bird!
It’s a plane!
It’s the joke flying over your head!

:smack:

He’s had Barry in his sights longer than that. The Samuroid kidnapped Irene, end game being presumably to plant a camera in Star Labs. Maybe also to bring the Flash back to himself if DeVoe needs to manipulate him to bring his plans to fruition.

It seems pretty clear that the Samuroid was intended to provoke Team Flash into bringing Barry back - and thus create the new metas. It’s not clear to me whether the main goal was creating new metas with having the Flash back as an undesired side-effect, or whether both are needed for the plan.

Heh. What if it winds up being both?

Like, what if all of this – sending the Samuroid to attack the city so Team Flash would bring Barry back next to a busload of folks who all thus became metas – was simply DeVoe hoping one of those Bus Metas would maybe get a healing touch that could cure DeVoe’s physical condition, because maybe that’s all DeVoe’s plan is: just getting back to solving purely mental problems, the way he was doing before.

After all, that is what he was doing before, right?

So now imagine that, okay, the stretchy meta is a disappointment, and so is the meta who can bring statues to life – but instead of a Healing Touch meta, DeVoe wound up getting a Swap Minds meta out of the deal. And so DeVoe’s body is still going to die very soon, but he got what he wanted in general: a meta who can let DeVoe live on, for years or even decades, as a guy who solves purely mental problems.

And so, in good Kill-Three-Birds-With-One-Stone fashion, he now decides, hey, since the Flash is now on to me, why not use that body-swap plan on Barry Allen, seeing as how that would neutralize that guy while getting me superspeed? I was going to swap into someone; might as well be him…

Whenever I watch these super heroes I always think Why America is always attacked in super heroes movies. All th super heroes are only made of America only. Besides this it is really an enjoyable movie.

With the hair/makeup/accent I did not recognize Katee Sackoff as Amunet

Brian

Good lord I can’t stand her. She might be the worst actress in the history of acting. Why would they employ her on the show that otherwise cast good actors. Has she ever done a good job of acting?

It’s the mid-season finale and Christmas episode, where it’s traditional to have the Trickster come and spread cheer and explosive toys to the citizens of Central City. So where was he? Mark Hamill surely can’t be too busy these days, can he?

Iris throws some shade on Felicity: “But I guess getting married during our wedding wasn’t on the registry either.” This deleted scene shows that Iris has had quite enough of Nazis interrupting her wedding, Felicity interrupting her vows, and - well, just watch: The Flash 4x09 Deleted Scene — Interrupted Honeymoon - YouTube

Great bit of plotting, with Devoe recruiting Amunet (tying the A and B plots together) and showing that he’s still thinking far ahead of Team Flash. With Barry arrested for Devoe’s murder, I’m sure we’ll get the scene shown to us the first time the Flash ran through the Speedforce, with Barry in prison.

So, why is Wally in Cambodia, now? He shows up for the wedding, takes a back seat while everybody else fights the Earth-X Nazis, then pops off to Southeast Asia?

He left Team Flash a couple episodes ago. So he came back for Iris and Barry’s wedding, then left again.

Kid Flash defeated Starro in Blue Valley before coming to the wedding. I’d like to believe he’s now in Cambodia fighting Grodd, eventually to join up with the Legends.

I knew that. My question was “why Cambodia”? Terminus Est came up with a good explanation. He’s probably fighting Grodd.

That would probably be a tough fight with Grodd entrenched there for decades. It also would mean there were two Grodds on Earth One this entire time.

I liked the deleted scene, with Barry’s complaint about running “in flip flops”.

Fun to imagine Ralph decorating the house, presumable using his stretching powers. But that raises another question: does he have a key to the house? Or did he break in? Maybe security there needs an upgrade, just as Star Labs does. Wait–he was wearing a Santa hat. DID RALPH COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY?

I’m bumping this, but what the hell–the show returns next week.

In season three Greg Grunberg got a big intro and two or three episodes where he was heavily focused on. Then (unless I missed something) he just…evaporated. All the fan press from the time said that he was supposed to have a major recurring role.

Did the character die or something and I missed it? Any idea what happened to him?
