I invoked Occam’s Razor earlier on, to suggest that the most likely explanation here is that the woman’s report was completely unwarranted.

But i focused on the wrong issue.

What i should have realized was the fact that, in any given discussion, the argument made by doorhinge is the one most likely to be completely without reason or logic. I think that’s the safest assumption in just about any thread where the question is more complex than “Vanilla or chocolate”?
