The Flying Morons - another plane delayed by a fucking idiot

STOP THE PRESSES

neofishboy loudly declares he has nothing to say. HooRay!

Let the yawning officially begin.

Have long have you considered yourself to be the “smartest and the hippest”? Were you elected, or appointed, or anointed?

Hiya, doorhinge!

checks forum rules

Hey, you know? It would be a real shame if you killed yourself. I certainly wouldn’t want to wish that on anyone.

Hahahaha. You’re a hoot. I guess you didn’t really need my answer. You’ve probably jumped to your own conclusion. Again. You must be exhausted.

I asked you a straight question - knowing what YOU know now - you don’t, as usual, want to answer a straight question.

Given what I DO know - I think the passenger over-reacted and made a bad decision - one that we should use to educate others to not be so paranoid. That’s not jumping to any conclusions, thats a reasonable conclusion based on the evidence available to us.

You, however, are too stupid to realize it.

There is simply no excuse she can (or apparently will) give for her actions that are reasonable. If she ever does, I’ll be happy to change my response.

so - either answer the fucking questions or admit you’re just here to stir shit.

doorhinge: “People are still talking about me like I really matter or something!”
fap fap fap fap fap fap.

(post shortened)

“We should use to educate others”…??? Don’t you mean this is your opportunity to harass a woman for traveling alone and who chose to make her own decision regarding her safety, even if it could be a mistake? You know who else doesn’t approve of woman travelling alone and making decisions?

Or what? Personally, I’d like a third choice.

I’m harrassing no one.

in the end - again - you can’t bring yourself to answer the fucking questions.

I have no problem with women, men, muslims, christians, athiests or anyone else ‘traveling alone’ - I do it all the fucking time - but you know what - she wasn’t alone - she may have been by herself on the flight (no direct traveling companions) but she was not ‘alone’.

you make it sound like she was in a dark alley somewhere - alone, afraid. You;'re the one thats making her out to be someone that shouldn’t be traveling.

but, you know what - I’m definitely tired of trying to reason with you - either answer my questions or fuck off - its really that simple.

Got the hots for her, don’t 'cha, Doorhinge.

Normally, when i start a thread, i take a certain satisfaction in seeing it extended into a lengthy conversation.

But for the love of all that is good and right, stop feeding this troll and let the thread die already!

…Hence the phrase “Dumb as a doorhinge.”

Wait. You mean there’s no such phrase?
Well, now there is.

**doorhinge **seems to think that women are beyond cricitcism.

I’ve never called her a moron. But all the available evidence indicates that the mistake she probably made was probably a stupid mistake.
Maybe a new saying is called for? If you see something, you better make damn sure that you’re right, or morons on the internet will attack.
It’s more like If you see something, it’s worth taking a moment to consider whether what you see constitutes rational grounds for suspicion, so you don’t uselessly waste resources that could be better devoted to genuine threats.

But you see, doorhinge, most members of the public are smart enough to understand that already.

As I understand it the doorhinge theory (insofar as there is a coherent **doorhinge **theory) is that there was or may have been some non-moronic reason the person felt she should say something. Which reason has not been forthcoming.

What we do know is that:

1/ the authorities very quickly reached a decision that there was no credible threat and allowed the “accused” to fly. Given the previous instances where the authorities have taken an uber-cautious attitude about such things, it’s a reasonable inference they thought the woman’s reasons for suspicion were obviously baseless:

2/ the “accused” said the woman was concerned because he was writing math. In the absence of any other information, that’s what we have to go on;

3/ neither the authorities nor the woman have come out and provided any more reasonable explanation. One would think the woman would do so if she could. The obvious inference is that she has no better explanation.

**Doorhinge **you are of course going to stick to your “we haven’t heard her side of the story” line and assume she had a reason that wasn’t stupid. You are free to exercise poor judgment. That is your right.

The obvious inference is that she can’t because she is being held by the authorities who are in bed with the algebraic terrorist.

I would think the only obvious thing is that in some way the situation is Obama’s fault. Your kinky fantasies notwithstanding.

Not that I’m saying there’s anything wrong with kinky fantasies, you understand.

The infiltration of terrorists in our midst is surely frightening. The two examples in the OP are merely the tip of the iceberg. Consider the facts:

The flight number itself is in Arabic numerals. The flight crew, the very ones flying the plane, probably computed the fuel requirements using the methods of the swarthy 9th century Arab and probable terrorist Muhammad ibn Musa al-Khwarizmi, which have come to be known as al-jabr or more commonly “algebra”, which is also useful in nefarious engineering projects like building bombs. The sheer terror of it all is self-evident.

Also – and sadly I am not making this up – the Daily Show recently showed excerpts from Fox News explaining that the Canadian government’s admittance of Syrian refugees is going to create a tsunami of terrorists surging in to the US. Many of them are educated and presumably if safeguards are not enacted immediately, they’ll end up doing advanced math on airplanes and scaring the hell out of decent God-fearing American travelers. The Daily Show interviewer, who freely admits that his name is Hasan Minhaj and is therefore himself a probable terrorist, tried to ask some of these Syrian families about their terrorist plans. It’s not clear if they were playing along with the joke or just thought he was an idiot, but it clearly shows how well they have been trained to conceal their true motives.

IIRC, the alleged terrorist was on a flight to Canada.

Close. It was Rochester.

See…Lumberjacks!!! :eek::eek:

Lumberjacks are ok, but rumor has it most Canadians prefer a good lager.
