Goodness, no, it’s not an exclusive thing, tho I might be a little snarky about thinking it up first. In fact, I have quite a few marigolds - wonder if I can spell out Rue in flowers. Since I don’t have a HOA here, I don’t have to worry about stoopit rules.
I’ve been up nearly 2 hours already, and it’s not quite 6AM here. I heard the furnace kick on, then the dog came in our room, then the cat jumped up on me for skritches and he spent 15 minutes licking my fingers. He’s an odd feline. But I’m all showered and dressed in my grungies. Mom won’t get here till after 11, so I’ll tend to some mundane chores, then start what I can outside once it gets a bit more light. I think the veggies will be the first order of business, followed by the marigolds.
But first, I need breakfast. What to eat… what to eat…
Just happened to me last night. I was the first to reply to an OP, and overnight, several other people posted saying the same thing (different words) and agreeing with the second or third person who said what I said. Guess I was in the stealth mode. Buncha poopyheads…
No, I’m not bitter. Not at all…
Wow - three in a row for me unless someone posts while I’m previewing…
Laundry is done and bills are paid. Still gotta vacuum and tidy the kitchen. It’s overcast and cool out - good yard working weather.
So, where are the rest of the MMPers? I can’t carry this burden alone, you know. I’m starting to bore myself - I can’t imagine how less interested readers must feel.
I thought Ashes was making orange peel BARF which nearly made me, till I read it again…
The forecast did it here - nothing but rain and soooo cold. Our tadpoles have hatched but our salamander eggs want no part of it.
I still haven’t raked or seeded my lawn and it isn’t going to happen till the puddles have soaked away. Arrgh!
And I had five hours of teaching English today - went like this: 9am Toddlers class; “It’s a big red apple!” 10am Ladies beginners “Do you ever snore/sing in the bath/ play tennis” “How often do you snore/sing in the bath,” yadda yadda 10am Yes, preventing intellectual property is very important, and yes I do think I might cast my eye over this Japanese freedom of information act which you have so carefully translated for me to discuss with you." (My head’s going to explode at this point.)
Lunch
2pm Back to “It’s a big red apple!” But these kids are older so just for good measure we add “Let’s be monkeys climbing trees to get coconuts!” 3pm coffee time and Oh-Shit-I-forgot-to-mark-their-homework-where-is-the-damned -stuff time. 4pm Relief! My ladies class consisting of four mature, mid to high level, free thinking fun women. We discussed our jobs, how we got them, how you go about applying for jobs in Japan, the UK and Korea, and drank a lot of tea.
Phew! Collapse for five minutes before rushing out to the daycare and after school clubs to pick up kids.
Home, dinner, homeowork, discover kid has been skiving off stuff for half a term and the teacher still hasn’t noticed or told me, , yell, send kid to bed without a story, make note to visit teacher and have his ARSE ON TOAST tomorrow morning. Come to the MMP to blow off steam.
Arrgh. Where are those chandeliers when you need them??
Do you ever get mixed up and ask them if they snore in the bath? Which is not such an odd question, because I have been known to fall asleep in a nice warm bath. Not very safe, really. But it’s so relaxing. Sorry, V-Bob, no pictures!
Here’s an interesting dilema. One of the owners told me yesterday to meet him at 10 am in his office to go over purchasing material for a repair job. It’s now 10:30, and he’s been in the senior non-owner guy’s office BS’ing for 45 minutes. My cube is just outside that door. Do I call in and remind him, send a discrete email to the senior non-owner guy, or just stay at my desk and pounce when he comes out?
I’ve electing to just stay put and ambush him when the door opens, but I’m up for other ideas.
Got called away from my desk and hit ‘Submit’ rather than ‘Preview’. I haven’t made that mistake in a long time.
I just wanted to mention that I didn’t for a minute believe that our **Rue ** smelled disagreeably or was in any way medicinal. Just that if you were going to write out people’s names, it might be cool to do it with plants that shared their names.
It’s raining here and I won’t be doing any planting. I’m here at work and am supposed to be working on my “Don’t Tell Taters Till the Last Minute So She Can Jump Through Her Ass” project. Yeah, yeah…I’ll get it done.
Oh, and that thing about posting to a thread, but everyone seems to ignore what I said and then quote people who posted after me saying the same thing? Happens to me all the time. Sigh…I try not to take it personally…
Well, I gotta go find the acting boss, I need to talk over a few things with him.
I’m here … I’m here … And I’m here with photographic evidence of the Great Weekend o’ Sacraments. My two darling boys and I, gussied up for First Communion and Baptism: Mama and her boys
My dog is currently quite healthy. I guess. Right now she’s sleeping, which she does all the time, so I’m not going to wake her up to see if her nose is all wet. You should let sleeping dogs lie. When they are awake you should make them tell the truth though. If they don’t, you have to wash their mouth out with soap. That’ll teach the little liars.
[url=http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=304815]TornaDope** is a “Go!” Ely. I just bought the hot dogs today, so they’re all fresh.
I’m here! Anybody miss me yesterday? crickets No, well, SNIFF!!!
I spent yesterday getting the grumpuses signed up for an assisted living facility that’s only five minutes from both my sister and me. It’s gonna cost them more but we six kids are all gonna pitch in to help out. It’ll be worth it. No more going out to East Butt Crack to see them. The new place is very elegant and has really good food. I had Mahi Mahi in case anybody wondered.
Came back to work today to find out a major SNAFU had occured. First thing when I came in. I’ve spent all morning helping the fire department put out a virtual public relations conflagration. Well…the client thinks so anyway. Bleh!
And billing is due on Friday. Double Bleh!
I roughed out my resume this morning. I’m figuring head caretaker at the doggy daycare center sounds really good right now. Oh, and I can flip burgers with two hands, too. That’s gotta be worth sumpin.
Well, that’d be one way to get rid of the poison ivy.
Tupug
Bad Fashion guy was not in class. He may go tonight, but I won’t be there. I really really hope he didn’t try to participate in the student gala last weekend. That would be dreadful.
Because you’re all interested we did three-quarter sideways shimmy walk, a fun double hip drop walk, and backwards undulations in the first class. Lots of hand and arm things, too. Second class was… um… released forward figure eights with hip drops, regular and vertical drop hip kick, and more shimmy walk. Last part of the class was improv. There’s going to be an improv class starting in June.
Wasn’t that fascinating? It was good fun. My technique is still a bit rough, and I think I’m using my back muscles a bit for undulations, but I’m working on getting more isolation.
It’s only WEDNESDAY? Why is this week going SOOOO slowly?
I’m s’posed to be working on one of the major reports that I do twice a year. But I spent all day yesterday calling people who didn’t call me back so I’m seriously lacking in motivation today. So instead I’m doing anything else that I possibly can instead.
Mmmm, I just had a piece of chocolate cake from yesterday’s monthly cake day (work thing for people’s birthdays). Not the best cake I’ve ever made, but the store-bought frosting really helped. And now I’ve got a sugar rush that might help make me want to do some work… or not.
We’re doing a volunteer day for work in two weeks and we’ll be planting flowers for that. So I will get to do some gardening even though I have no space of my own for those kinds of pursuits. That should be nice.
Where’s Ex been lately? Didn’t he say he renewed? We miss you Ex!
