The fucking stupid fuck French

So they still have to kill another 49 people, injure another 4,000, end up with 12,000 arrestees, and do about $1 billion dollars in property damage before they match the ferocity of the LA riots of '92. It’s a simple case of taking the beam out of your own eye before complaining about the mote in someone else’s.

Of course, that was on Clintons watch, and as we found out with Katrina the president is solely responsible for what happens in each state.

Trying to deflect whats happening in France by pointing at the US is kind of futile though, wouldn’t you say? Or to put it another way (and use the arguements used when pro-American’s do the same thing), just because the US did bad doesn’t excuse whats going on in France or make it any less bad. Nor are the two riots (or comparing whats going on in France to Watts) comparable, as the countries they are happening in are very different…as are their citizens.

As for the discussion of Chirac being a conservative, I’d say he most certainly is…by French definitions. The problem is that those definitions mean something completely different to an American than they do to a European…and most American’s don’t really understand how our Euro bretheren use those definitions (and by the same token a lot of Euro’s don’t really understand how they are used in the US. Admittedly more Euro’s understand the US than the contrary though). Our politics are just fundamentally different, and the various issues and factions are in no way compatable. There IS no party like the Republicans in Europe because even their right wing parties have completely different agendas. There IS no party comparable to Chirac’s here in the states for the same reason.

I was talking about bush, actually.

You were the one comparing the two, I was merely stating a small difference, nothing more, nothing less.

Tell me, Lonesome Polecat, Did the LA rioteers also pour gasoline on a woman on crutches and then set her on fire?

The LA riots? You may want to check your timeline.

The longer you deny action, the more the rioters get a stranglehold, and innocent people are killed, and their property destroyed. These pieces of shit are no different than the ones in Toledo, or LA. They riot with absolutely no earnest causation, other than personal gain. There is a time to stand up and violently confront the government, (civil rights, anyone?) and there’s a time to voice your objections peacably, albeit loudly.

These miserable excuses for humanity are taking thier supposed frustrations out on innocent people and the places and things that they work so hard to attain. If they put as much effort into bettering themselves as they do into destroying others’ lives, I have a feeling they’d be FAR more productive. Until then, oak baton rounds for everyone.

The immigrants, the French or the rioting? My German’s pretty damn rusty.

Okay, so you admit you have no point.

The rioting has spread to Germany and Belgium.

You don’t seem to have much of a point either. I don’t think you can easily compare the situations, you seem to think that you can.

Whoops…my bad. I thought they happened in '93 not '92. It was only supposed to be a tongue in cheek type joke anyway.

Appologies…wasn’t even that funny of a joke had I got the dates right. :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re too hard on yourself. Buck up, buddy, you’ll make an accurate, humorous observation one of these days.

They suckered you into Vietnam pretty nicely.

Nah, you’re just being a jerk. So was the OP. That was my point. Jerk.

I simply made a point albeit small and unimportant. It has nothing to do with the OP, I don’t agree with the OP and if it makes you feel big to call people jerks by all means I won’t stop you.

First death in riots.

The first fatality in the wave of violence was Jean-Jacques Le Chenadec (61) , who died on Monday after being beaten on Friday in the northern Paris suburb of Stains. Le Chenadec had been in a coma since Friday.
[no-one knows how the handicapped woman is doing after she was set afire]

Great.

First the crippled and the old, now it’s baby time…

In Colombes, suburban Paris, youths pelted rocks at a bus, sending a 13-month-old child to hospital with a head injury. A day-care centre was burned in Saint-Maurice, another Paris suburb.

Paris calling to the faraway towns
Now that war is declared and civility’s drowned
Paris calling the new Eurotrash
Come out of the projects, and burn our cities to ash.
Paris calling, now don’t look to us
Apologetics & socialism are biting the dust.

Don’t hold your breath…accuracy isn’t my forte. :stuck_out_tongue:
