That dress is gorgeous, Miss Purl – the pattern looks surprisingly easy, too; it’s just the shaping that might be a bit tricky. And you’re right, it does look more like knitting a large shawl than a solid dress. It’s still a big job, though!

I should get my ass off the sofa, wash my face, and get to bed, but I feel randomly melancholy tonight. Nothing in particular, just my usual self-inflicted reasons. And speaking of which, That Guy was so antsy during orientation today I wanted to slap him. It WAS incredibly boring and mostly pointless, but we’re paid to sit there and listen, for crying out loud. Sometimes he acts like he’s thirteen. But most guys I know are the same way, with varying degrees of frequency, I suppose.

Nothing big going on around here. Still sick, nose and the area below my nose feel totally raw, my eyes are just pouring water, and sneezing and coughing at the same time hurts. This morning I was coughing so hard I strained a muscle on the left side of my abdomen. That really hurt. I know…whine, whine, whine. I’ll stop now.
I guess I’ve got nothing to add. I’m so damn tired, but I can’t sleep. Sigh…

Went and reported the theft to the police, who checked the registry of towed vehicles for the past 24 hours (this is important!) and said, yup, it’s been stolen, here’s your temporary notification for the insurance company, yadda yadda.
A week later, I get an irate call from the City’s towing lot, “so, you want your car or not?” :eek:
Anyway, went down there, found the car, paid the parking ticket (still don’t know why they towed me, it wasn’t egregious, in fact I was simply parked slightly too close to (not nearly on!) a crosswalk). Paid the towing fee. Then they told me I need to pay for a week of storage. At which point I flipped, pointed out that they had neglected to notify police of the towing and my car was reported as stolen, and did they want me to leave the POS there to clutter their lot and go back to the police and tell them I found out who stole my car?
They waived the storage fee…
Although I was sooooo looking forward to getting full “blue-book” price on the POS from the insurance (yes, I had coverage for some Og-unknown reason)…
