Why?
Now I know what kept waking me up all night - you noisy night-shift folkses! We were lights out shortly after 9, and I woke up around midnight, certain I saw either flames or the TV splashing moving light on the door frame - but it was apparently my imagination. After that, it was in and out of sleep till 4:45. I considered going back to sleep after **FCD ** left for work, but that didn’t happen. <sigh>
So, critters have been tended to, dishwasher is washing, cat box is clean, and I’m caffeinating. Today is Jury Duty day - I’ll be leaving in about 2.5 hours to do my civic duty. Hope I’m awake by then… <yawn>

Morning all, up and caffeinating here. Just about to leave for work, too! {{{{{{mmmms}}}}}}, sorry that you’re in that position. 
I’ve thought of more games we used to play: Life, Stratego (my brothers used to whip me at that one!), and card games like Hearts.

What??? :eek: It’s September already? I slept for eight months? (damned European date notation . . .)
No, really. Let’s have a pool for when TNC arrives. Every other time there was a baby pool, (in cases when it started near or past the due date) the baby was born quickly just to spite those who picked dates more than a week away. I am serious. It’s like a magic charm.
I’m all showered and dressed and eating an egg-n-cheese sammich for breakfast. I need to leave in about 90 minutes - hope we have some interesting cases today. Last time, it was mostly boring drug-dealing stuff.
After we’re done, I need to get a bag of doggie kibble, and I’m hoping WalMart has a decent supply of the flavored waters. Lately, they’ve only been carrying 2 of the flavors I like, and I’m starting to get tired of them. I may resort to plain water - that’ll show 'em!
More plans for the afternoon include at least one load of jeans in the wash. Oh yes, envy my jet-setting lifestyle.
Speaking of kitties - have any of you had a cat who, for no apparent reason, seems to hardly eat? Miss Brandy will eat her wet food (she doesn’t get much - about 1/4 of a can each evening) but she hardly touches her kibble. In the past, she’d snarf down about 3/4 cup in a day, but I haven’t had to refill her dish in a week. I’m thinking of dumping it - maybe it’s getting stale?? She doesn’t act sick, she’s drinking water, she’s as active as ever (which is to say not much - she’s a cat - she snoozes, sleeps, naps, dozes, and occasionally curls up for a little rest.) Since she’s not acting “off” I’m not inclined to take her to the vet. I wonder if she heard us talking about how she was getting a bit tubby?? Maybe we hurt her feelings? :dubious:
