The Global Warming Fraud

I don’t understand-greed is greed, right? If it is a sin/undesirable, and that is your primary concern in such scenarios, then it is objectionable no matter in what context it appears?

Then why don’t I ever see anyone attacking the (putative) greed exhibited by both sides in the AGW debate? Why do the energy companies always get a free pass in these types of screeds, while the climate scientists get whaled on like mad?

Kind of like a cop who tazes a little kid stealing a candy bar, while completely ignoring the conga line of appliances disappearing out the back door of the Wal-Mart…

I instantly picked up on the irony of the user name, myself.

You’re quite right. Matters of science should best be left to Al Gore, Barack Obama, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

You suffer badly from the Fallacy of the Argument from Authority. Moreover, you veterans of Dope all seem to believe that your way is the only way. Is the New York Times your bible?

  1. No you don’t understand, and intentionally so. The greed factor is widely cited by you warmists, smearing those big, nasty oil companies which everyone here buys gasoline from weekly. In point of undeniable fact, the warmists siphon off many times as much from government agencies and not for profit saps. You blithely ignore those.

  2. Cops don’t taze kids stealing a candy bar.

  3. Appliances don’t disappear out the back door of WalMart.

You’re not very good at this.

Finally, IF everyone in the U.S. were to stop burning all fossil fuels forever, it would make little difference as China, India, and all the other impoverished people of the earth will continue to happily improve their lives buy utilizing as much energy as they possibly can. You do all the sacrificing, if only by mouth, and nothing changes.
Have you ANY IDEA what the primary greenhouse gas is, and by what margin it exceeds carbon dioxide? Any IDEA?

And one part PER MILLION annual increase in CO2 is driving earth climate?
Oh please. Most of that is naturally occurring anyway.

Dr. Don Easterbrook, professor emeritus of geology, Western Washington University speaks to U.S. Senate hearing panel, and shows the impossibility of human-induced global warming. 1 hour 29 minutes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFyH-b3FRvE

“I looked at 73 climate models going back to 1979 and every single one predicted more warming than happened in the real world.” - John Christy, professor atmospheric science, Director of Earth System Science Center (ESCC) at the University of Alabama, Huntsville. Former NASA Scientist: Global Warming Is ‘Nonsense’
A prominent scientist and former NASA researcher has added his voice to those who challenge the “scientific fact” that man-made carbon emissions are causing global warming.

Dr. Leslie Woodcock is a professor emeritus of chemical thermodynamics at the University of Manchester in England, with a PhD from the University of London, and served as a senior research consultant at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Laboratory in Ohio.
In an interview with Britain’s Yorkshire Evening Post, Woodcock declared: "The theory of ‘man-made climate change’ is an unsubstantiated hypothesis.
"The theory is that CO2 emitted by burning fossil fuel causes ‘global warming.’ In fact, water is a much more powerful greenhouse gas and there is 20 times more of it in our atmosphere [than carbon dioxide].

“Carbon dioxide has been made out to be some kind of toxic gas but the truth is it’s the gas of life. We breathe it out, plants breathe it in. The green lobby has created a do-good industry and it becomes a way of life, like a religion. I understand why people defend it when they have spent so long believing in it.”

Woodcock is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, a founding editor of the journal Molecular Simulation, a recipient of a Max Planck Society Visiting Fellowship, and a former guest scientist at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology.
He went on to say: "If you talk to real scientists who have no political interest, they will tell you there is nothing in global warming. It’s an industry which creates vast amounts of money for some people.
"The temperature of the earth has been going up and down for millions of years. If there are extremes, it’s nothing to do with carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, it’s not permanent and it’s not caused by us. Global warming is nonsense. “It’s become almost an industry, as a consequence of this professional misconduct by government advisers around the world.”
But he added: “You can’t blame ordinary people with little or no science education for wanting to be seen to be good citizens who care about their grandchildren’s future and the environment.”

Trillions of dollars have already been selfishly squandered on The Global Warming Fraud, including research, “solutions,” government largess, and interference in business. Trillions more are sure to follow. Here is a partial list of budget requests for 2011 alone, just for research by only United States governmental agencies:

NOAA $437 million
NSF $480 million
NASA $438 million
DOE $627 million
DOI $171 million
EPA $169 million
USDA $159 million

Climate scientists get more money than the petroleum industry?

Old debunked news too, and going down already:

You really need to stop getting your information from sources like the Western Journalism Center. It might as well be WND (in fact, WND is a spinoff).

Given the attitude the OP is displaying, I’m thinking probably forced…

As for Dr. Woodkock, not even the ones that interviewed him can save him from many others to conclude that he is just spewing horseshit.

Whoa, major timeline failure!

Hey! Slow down, you detractors. I want to understand OP’s point of view before he goes away.

Is the thread about AGW, or is it about Obama? Is Obama a climate scientist?

Help me out here OP; I’m just guessing:

  • Is Obama a scientist smart enough to know that AGW is a fraud, but is playing along with the fraudsters?
  • Is it the fawning sheeple who love the Teleprompter Emperor who have promulgated the fraud?

I’m just trying to connect the dots, please. The OP title is about AGW, but the content focuses on Obama. Why?

So what’s wrong with an industry that does good things?

It is because of the upcoming Paris Climate Change Conference of November 2015.

Many denier groups are apoplectic that after all their huffing and puffing, world leaders are not listening to them, but to experts and scientists. Go figure.

Of course the only card to play is the political one, it has to be acknowledged that it is their strongest one, but it is based on not informing the American public that the issue is indeed real, a serious one and that new policies will have to be implemented to control emissions. It is also important to realize that even the current Republican leaders are not doing what a lot of Republicans want too. To do something about this issue.

As our former doper The Bad Astronomer reports, it is thanks to politics that the hopes of many in the know are not too high for the meeting, but with the Changes in China, Australia, Canada and other places one can hope for more action.

So, this one guy who has a Nobel prize has resigned from the American Physical Society because he thinks global warming isn’t a real thing. How many Nobel prize winners have remained in the APS, and fully endorse climate change? Why do you put so much stock in the opinion of one Nobel prize winner, and automatically discard the opinions of all the others who disagree with him? If you’re putting forward ‘Nobel Prize Winner’ as a reason to trust him, why are all the other Nobel laureates who disagree with him just as trustworthy?

So, if I’m understanding things correctly, Dr. Woodcock is soft on Global Warming.

You, and your many pals here, really need to stop being condescending smartasses who know it all. Why doesn’t one of you take on fifty different people, simultaneously?
How unfortunate it is that every single one posting here is a disciple of Al Gore.
Name one person who has made more money on global warming than Al Gore. Just one.

A now deceased Nobel laureate reportedly flew 350,000 miles annually, giving expensive speeches in which everyone already knew what he was going to say. They just came for the photo op and to say they listened to him. Mass hypocrisy. “Hey, guys, cut back dramatically on driving and stuff. Bye! Back to the airport, via limousine.”

Water vapor constitutes 15,400 ppm of the atmosphere. Water vapor. Carbon dioxide increases at the rate of just over 1 part per million annually, for the past 50 years.
So naturally everything is the fault of humans, who make up a small fraction of that 1 part per million.

How gullible all of you are. How dangerously gullible.

Rex Tillerson?

I know it won’t make a lick of difference (“you can’t reason a man out of a position…”) but RM what do you make of Richard Muller? He was a former AGW skeptic who set up Berkeley Earth, an independently funded research group created to focus on what he thought where holes in the AGW data. This group was funded in part by the Koch brothers. In 2012 he changed his mind and came out in favor of AGW. Is he part of the conspiracy too?

Clearly he was bought off by Big Climate.

Accepting the consensus of the vast majority of experts isn’t knowing it all. It’s being an intelligent, rational person.

Because AGW denial is such fringe nonsense, there aren’t fifty people on a board dedicated to reducing ignorance, for that to happen.

I’m not a disciple of anyone. I’m thankful Gore popularized the message of the science, but the trouble is, a third of the country are such blind RW ideologues that they’d ignore anything from someone on the left.

The CEO of Exxon? The Koch bros? Any of the industry liars that confuse the gullible with misinformation?

That’s nonsense. No one is asking to end air travel. There need to systemic changes enacted, not the reversion to a pre-industrial lifestyle. The fact that you believe that shows that you’re not exactly well-informed on the issue.

You think your uneducated layman understanding is superior to that of the vast majority of experts. That’s arrogant and flat-out silly.

You’re the one fighting the consensus because guys who put carbon in the air tell you to.
