The Goa'uld vs. the (early STNG) Borg

The two creepiest alien races ever to grace a major sci-fi TV show, in a no-holds-barred fight to the end.

Who’d win and why?

The Committee to Reelect the President.

Would they be Borg or Goa’uld?

Now, I admit I don’t know much about the Goa’uld, but I have a strong feeling that the Borg would kick their asses across the cosmos. That is of course if you’re looking at the original design of the Borg and not the pussy ass pieces of shit that Voyager made them out to be. One cube on it’s own was able to nearly wipe out the entire Federation fleet the first time they encountered it. Also, the Goa’uld seem to need host bodies to function properly. If you’re talking an invasion type scenerio, I don’t believe a G could possess a Borg, I’m sure the cybernetics and whatnot would make them a rather undesireable host. On the other hand, the Borg could take a G host and convert him with pretty much no problem…whether the G survives the process or not, I don’t know, and I don’t think they really care.
Also, I have no idea about the G technology, but from what I’ve seen, it mainly revolves around the staffs, small plasters, and a few hand held thingies, which I’m sure after the first few blasts, the Borg would be pretty much immune to. I haven’t seen a G space ship fight, but I’m sure a cube would be more than a match. Basically, physically and technologically, the Borg are superior in my mind, and therefore, would have no problem assimilating or annihilating the Goa’uld.

They would probably be a bit more subtle than that. What if they took over some high-profile Federation types, like captain Picard and the current Klingon leader, and then proceeded to whip the Borg?

Again, it’s one of those things in terms of “How is this fight going to go about?”
The Borg have lost enough battles when the Enterprise under Piccard are involved, I’m sure if they were going to ever attempt an assault on Earth again, or any other battle where the Enterprise was involved, more than one cube would be involved, and if that’s the case, I think they’re pretty much screwed. It’s cool that they can figure out the weak points, but first it needs to be exposed, then pummeled, and while the good ships are focusing on one, the rest of the Borg fleet would step in for support. There’s also the question of how many ships does the Borg have? Voyager showed a glimpse of what a Borg shipyard looks like, and it was mighty impressive, and considering one cube by itself could really screw over a lot of ships (even with Piccard around), I don’t think the entire Federation (with Klingon help) would last long against an entire fleet of cubes.
Also, the Goa’uld are currently being held at ends by modern day military. Compare that to the Borg, and you can see who comes out on top, hands down.

Er, is that a rhetorical question, or am I supposed to give an answer that has all the Republican Dopers screaming for my head on a pike?
As I closed another thread, Nixon is dead.

I’m inclined to believe they would probably be on the Goa’uld side by default if they had to choose. After all, the Borg are a society that would make Karl Marx proud.

“The assimilation of the proletariot is a class assimilation.”

I see the borg taking this war on two fronts. Totally anihilation of the G’s space fleet via cubes, and sweeping the outward bases clear from captured Stargates. Borg with Stargates. Brrr.
