The Goldberg-Shprinzak Syndrom

What is the Goldberg-Shprinzak Syndrom?

First of all, welcome to the SDMB! I hope you’ll find it a pleasant and useful place.

I couldn’t find anything online using the spelling you provided, but I’ve found references to something called Shprintzen-Goldberg syndrome, which is probably what you’re thinking of. This page describes it as follows:

I’m not a doctor, though, so don’t rely on me for this. (There are posters on this board who are indeed practicing physicians, and they can probably fill in some more details.)

I hope you’re not asking because there’s someone you know who has this condition! If that’s the case, then please accept my sympathies - and you should definitely talk to a doctor (most likely a heart specialist) to see what can be done.

Gee, I hope you don’t need to read my signature!

That is to say the Shrine Children’s Hospitals (in the US and Canada) are among the finest in the world. They offer free treatment to all and have over fifty hospitals. Local Masonic organizations will help provide trasport to the nearest hospital.

Good luck!
