Ooooh. One of those was on Pawn Stars recently. Yeah, he’d better have kept it in his driveway and sold it asap…
I was amazed… that his annual insurance is $7000. That seems cheap to me for a car as valuable as a house.
By way of comparison, I pay $1450 a year on a $24,000 car. So my rate of insurance is three times higher when adjusted for the value of the car.
The tax must have been a bitch.
Given the nature of the car, a crash is more likely than for, say, a family sedan. But the damage done to other vehicles probably wouldn’t be much greater than a family sedan would do, so the premium for liability insurance would be only moderately higher. The Lambo would be more expensive to repair/replace, so collision insurance premiums would be much higher.
So…relative to your car, the cost ratio is 13:1 on replacement cost if totaled, but roughly 1:1 for cost of damage done to other vehicles, overall the odds of a claim are somewhat higher. Net premium for the Lambo is about 5X what you’ve paid? Maybe a smidge lower than what I would have expected, but not astonishingly so.
There’s been speculation around the webz that he purposefully crashed it in order to total it and get the insurance payout.
“…a 380-thousand-dollar…”
“…35-hundred dollars…”
I’ve never seen this before. Why wouldn’t they write “$380,000.00” and $3,500.00"? It looks like it was written by a foreign news organization.
Oh, sorry. Hi, Jack!
