Well, it looks like Darwin’s Theory of Evolution just took another hit.
Evolution is falsifiable. Intelligent design is not. There is tons and tons of data that supports the Theory of Evolution (and common descent) as the best explanation for the complexity and diversity of life on earth- there is no data that supports Intelligent Design (all such claims so far have been shown to be false).
Intelligent Design supporters have the science backwards- they started with the assumption that God did it, and are trying to find evidence to support that (and failing even at that). That’s not how science works- in real science, you collect data before making any claims at all.
Even before technology allowed us to study molecular biology (DNA), there was enormous amounts of evidence in the form of fossils in support of evolution. With the study of DNA the last few nails have been pounded into the coffin of creationism (and its unacknowledged bastard child Intelligent Design). It’s laughable to think that the fossil evidence and DNA evidence just happen to match up perfectly with the predictions made by evolution without evolution actually being the best explanation.
