Stupid question time: how can I see what games I have extra copies of? With all the bundles I’ve grabbed during specials, it seems like I should have doubles of several games, but I can’t find where they’re shown. Assuming I have some, I’ll post my list here for takers.
If you have extra games, they’ll be in your Steam inventory. Go to Steam, look at your profile and click the link to show your inventory. It’ll have several tabs (Team Fotress 2, DOTA, maybe some other) but the one you want is “Steam”.
Typically, bundles bought on Steam don’t grant gift copies if you already own one of the games. The extra game is just wasted. There’s some rare exceptions (Valve bundles, mainly) but, for the most part, you need to intentionally purchase a gift copy of a game (i.e. select “purchase as a gift” and then select “keep in my inventory”) to get a gift copy.
Thanks to Kinthalis for Metro 2033! Its been pretty fun in the limited time I have played it so far. I hope to return the favor to a fellow Doper in the future.
Thanks Jophiel. It looks like a bust for me. Oh well. Since half of the potential duplicates are games added after I purchased the bundles, I can’t complain. They’re still a great deal.
