what exactly is it? is this just something the insane clown posse (i.c.p.) made up or is it some real myth (sorry, oxymoron) that certain freaks made up or believe in?
i looked up the lyrics and they mention Necromancy or communicating with the dead.
I looked for “Milenko” and “Malenko” in the indexes of a couple of my mythology books, but saw nothing close.
Well, considering that one of their songs contains the lyrics “f_ck all 52 states,” I’d say their, um, background research isn’t all that rigorous.
The Insane Clown Posse has an elaborate invented mythos that has changed in character and substance over the course of their career. While it’s doubtless they’re cribbing some bits and pieces from other sources, the system is uniquely their own.
The ICP were / are involved with professional wrestling. The Great Malenko was a wrestler who passed away in 1994.
Right, just done a bit of Googling and it seems that WCW - the wrestling promotion that both the ICP and The Great Malenko’s son, Dean Malenko, were working for at the time - claimed that this song / album was named after the wrestler.
Here’s the Google cache from an ICP fansite where the author pours water on that claim.
It looks like, whether inspired by the wrestler or not, they just made the name up.
