They had Doug LaMalfa’s statement on the local news last night. He essentially said he voted for McCarthy in the first vote as a protest to what’s been going on and that McCarthy should not have been removed. He spoke with Jordan afterward to explain, then, in the next sentence, said he’d be voting for Jordan in the second round. SMH
Thanks
and here we go roll call vote.
Thanks to MulderMuffin for the handy list.
Oooh, new anti-Jordan vote – Rep Buchanan voted for Donalds.
According to CNN, the only Representative who did not answer the quorum call was Don Payne of New Jersey, a Democrat
Idle Q: Why do some of the reps get roll called as “Last Name of X State” (eg: Boyle of Pennsylvania) when there is only one Boyle? I get doing it when there’s multiples of a last name but not when the surname is unique.
jordan is out! he has lost 4.
He’ll be back.
They always come back.
I think Jordan can afford one more. By my count, there are 222 Republicans and 210 Democrats present (assuming Payne wasn’t just late for the quorum call, but even if he was, that wouldn’t change the majority needed from 217).
And that being said, it’s up to 8 and counting.
Oh, and here’s an idea: how about we go by the House’s count, which is 221.
Another flip away from Jordan – Ferguson voted for Scalise.
So far he hasn’t convinced any defectors, and has lost one mod. Wait, he just lost another? Ferguson?
216 for today as a rep is out of the house today.
We’re up to 12 Non-D votes for someone other than Gym.
This is delightful to watch.
I think it’s because of potential confusion with Val Hoyle of Oregon, who also gets her state attached despite having a unique surname.
Based on the Congressional Record (PDF), it looks like Bean/Kean and Castor/Castro get the same treatment.
LOL, Mike Kelly voted for Boehner. This is a joke.
Yup…Representative John James of Michigan appears to have voted for the Macomb County Public Works Commissioner.
He got a flip. LaMalfa.
Hahahaha. Ouch.
