My cat is both an indoor and outdoor girl. I installed a SureFlap Microchip Cat Flap into the door that leads from the garage to the back yard. This cat door reads the microchip that is under her skin between her shoulder blades, meaning no collars to fall off or choke the cat. It works as advertised. Think of it: my cat has the only key to her very own door. No other cats or other animals can pass through. Brilliant. Got it on amazon.

Ooh, I like that! We have a PetSafe SmartDoor, which requires a bulky “key” on the collar. We finally just started leaving it unlocked once we decided to let both cats go out.

Due to some cat behavior issues, we have gone through a lot of Nature’s Miracle products. Their Cat Urine Destroyer and Laundry Boost really work.

In the last 6 months I’ve trained our two 6 year old male cats to use the toilet using the CitiKitty system. It’s so much nicer to simply flush, no scooping or smell. Easier on your catsitter as well, which I feel means they spend more time socializing w/ the cats instead of litter scooping. Wish I’d done it years ago.
