For those saying “What the hell is he talking about”: A 1-5-4 song is a song that’s built on the 1-5-4 chord progression. In the key of G, for example, the 1 chord would be a G chord, the 5 chord would be a D chord, and the 4 chord would be a C chord. A 1-4-5 song would be based on the same chords but in a different order.
My own personal top three 1-5-4 songs of all time are:
"Baba O’Riley" by the Who
“Do Ya” by the Move (or ELO, but I prefer the Move)
“Sweet Jane” by the Velvet Underground (OK, it’s really 1-5-4-5, so sue me)
For 1-4-5 songs, I’d list:
“Wild Weekend” by the Rockin’ Rebels
“Come On Let’s Go” by Ritchie Valens
