I say that Jupiter, Pete and Bob win when it comes to sheer brainpower and general problem-solving ability.
However, the Hardy Boys win on two counts: material possessions and the ability to score with teenaged girls.
Rick Brant could whip either group in a detecting contest.

Holy shit, I agree with Chuck about something! The Rick Brant books were the best of that genre, hands down. The even more obscure Ken Holt mysteries were pretty good too.
