The highlights & lowlights of your year

Highs:
Left Austrailia for the the States, but not before we saw The Great Barrier Reef.
My husband decided NOT to go back to work in libya(after leaving Sept 10)
Had great trips to Chicago, Carmel by the Sea, and Seattle.
Put up Christmas decorations for the first time in six years.
My husband is around all the time.
Lows:
Husband without a job for three months, with nibbles but no bites for expat jobs.
Not being able to go to Italy to live, see above.
A friend I’ve know for thirty years has cancer.:frowning:

( my husband is around all…the…time…;))

Thanks, Zoe! I am sorry to hear about the cancer.

I held a copy of my first book in my hands on August 20th.

My mom died on June 20th.

I love this “high”.
Lows: Hysterectomy in January. My son had oral surgery in March. Knee surgery in July
Highs: Discovering how compassionate my children are when they all helped me through the recovery processes. Learning that my son has made an impact on someone in our community- enough of an impact that the person paid his down payment for a trip to Europe. Earning my AA, moving on to work toward my BA.

Moved across the country to Chicago for a new job and outlook on life: Good
Pay increase with new job: Good
Bad? Got mugged and had a nasty flu this December.

OOPS! That should have been 16G memory.

Mine happened within three days of each other. My wife and I found out we are expecting (one more month!) and my grandfather, who I was really close to, died three days later.

What’s cool is my last conversation with him was telling him that we are having a baby. Not bad.
