Yes I have actually done quite a bit of research on the subject. I have read countless papers and listened to countless talks on the subject over a period of many years. I have had the pleasure of conferring with some widely accepted experts in this area and came away from th conversations feeling pretty good about himself. I have a lifetime track record of successful thinking in my fields. I have learned to respect my own ideas and thoughts. because I don’t just talk out my ass.
Yes I have actually done quite a bit of research on the subject. I have read countless papers and listened to countless talks on the subject over a period of many years. I find when listening to the top speakers on the subject I am often right there with them. My own experience in life and business has taught me that my thought processes are valid. I try to deal with things on a fundamental level whenever possible, sometimes identifying the fundamentals is not as straight forward as one may think. Little nuances can have great impacts.
I don’t know why you keep going on about this. I could care less where it came from or who wrote it. I like it. Regardless of the explanation they give I have to believe that someone recognized this trait in people. I simply like the concept! It fits well into some of the areas I have been struggling witth and I plan to expand on it and evaluate it a lot further. I was just looking for feedback on the concept.
@HoneyBadgerDC Then by all means carry on and enjoy your journey and your explorations. But as we see here, what you find to be true and meaningful to you may not resonate the same way with others, or be confusing and contradictory to them. My interests confuse the hell out of a lot of other folks.
As others posters have shown, this is clearly wrong, but it’s interesting that you don’t seem to want to consider anyone else’s arguments.
Simply inventing up a backstory to fit a made up interpretation is actually something Mormonism does very well, so I grew up listening to many people doing similar things.
I found that pointing out the actual history to people who weren’t interested in facts did little to change their opinions, so I’m not going to try here, either.
I don’t actually see it as any kind of truth necessarily. I did find it interesting and was hoping to explore The possibility of incorporating that concept into a fantasy social media platform I spend time on… I do everything on a Complaint, cause, correction basis. Defining the complaint is always the first step.
Complaint: A lot of people behave badly. Cause, Personality defects, Correction. Repair personalities. You could write several books on any one of these three items, or you might simply say, What creates a good personality?. Instead of identifying and correcting issues you simply have doors that will open or not open. When a door opens there is a reward. Ethics and morals open doors as opposed to knowledge. Desirable traits open doors. How you are greeted and who you are greeted by when walking through a new door matters!. Everything is based on a relatively short list of premises regarding behavioral traits that are fairly consistent among humans. It has to meet very specific criteria, such as it can’t be stagnant or it
For one thing the history of the trinity was of only minor interest to me as I have repeatedly stated here. I have been working on a concept of self for many years now and the concept of a 3 part self I found interesting and worth of exporing. I have zero interest in exploring the history even though I did suggest that someone else may have viewed it the same way I did. You are assuming I am just plugging something in with little to know forethought and you are absolutely wrong on this account. It is a fairly new concept to me and I only recently started evaluating it. I was hoping to expore the concept of how it might fit into our identities. When I make an assertion I only do so as a matter of looking at something from a different perspective. It doesn’t mean I am stuck on it. It just means I am exploring it. I am baffled as to why so many people here are stuck on the history of it.
Exploring a concept and ignoring facts are not related to one another. Your comment is misplaced. Has anyone addressed the concept here as to how the trinity might be applied to our own sense of self? That is all I was looking for. and in the last several days I have found several philosophers who suggest we have independent aspects to our personalities. Exploring thoughts can actually be a very pleasurable experience. Shutting down thoughts is always boring.
So you take a concept whose origin and meaning you proudly know nothing about, proclaim it a general concept about human personality and try to convince the world that this the knee’s bees in philosophy? Good luck, especially on the Dope.
Where do you people come from??? I am, not even trying to convince myself, I simply like the concept and was hoping to explore the ways it might fit in to what I am doing. Not about facts, it is about exploring something, possibly even metaphorically. If I make some kind of assertion, it doesn’t mean I necessarily believe in something, it just means I see something of possible value and am looking for feedback on it. I wouldn’t care if I heard it from my grandmother.
Let me explain where I am coming from, As some of you might know I have been working on a framework for a social media site. Call it a fantasy project if you like because that is most likely what it is. The primary goal of the site is to create more opportunities for successful social interactions. Which would better facilitate one’s quest for self-actualization. The site creates opportunities for people to contribute and have their contributions recognized and valued. Access to the ladders leading to the top are dependent on one’s ability to cooperate. Accountability is everywhere and so is redemption. The system is based on a number or premises re; human behavior, such as. If people find a place where they feel better about themselves they will come back. The more intense these feelings are the more the person will rely on it as a source of feel good. A person will do what he needs to do to maintain his access to this source, he becomes slightly more malleable. If a source is regular and consistent the individual will become more motivated, as he becomes more motivated he starts to become passionate about whatever it is he is doing. he will become more energetic, his comprehension and. concentration grows stronger and there will be an overall increase in his level of performance. And therefore more successful. It is all based on a stylized form of communication that would be somewhat unique to this site even though many people communicate this way in their everyday lives. I am trying to build a framework that agrees with our human nature. I can see definite possibilities with the concept of humans being somwhat of a trinity. Instead of taking the word father literaly we stretch that to just identifying the behavior of a father when he is in that more, or a son in that mode. A 7 year old child can act in a father mode for example. I like the thought of using the holy spirit as a free spirit. Only 33 1/3 % of a person can be absolutely selfish when it comes to pursuing anything they choose to pursue. It is a good refection of keeping priorities in order. That is all I am talking about.
On the contrary, a free source mass social media site. just good manners. No relation to anything in a cult. Just mutual respect. The ting about a trinity seemed to fit right into a place I have been struggling with. For example, I come up with a topic, any topic I choose, only people interested in exploring that topic would engage. But the topic would always be the topic of the op and he would choose what aspects of that topic he wanted to pursue. It doesn’t mean it won’t lead to other areas but not until the OP felt satisfied his issues were addressed. Not allowing contributors to take a topic off course. They could always drop out anytime they chose but their would be an expectation that topics are adhered to.
I see threes often, mathematically and geometrically, such a sure and smug number, the strongest pyramidical and tripod structure in earthbound physics. I always think of the rotating yin yang symbol, in daoist symbolism. It is a whole, two energies, light and dark, in one whole zygote.
