As Human Beings are all said to be related, would a large, comprehensive, worldwide family tree project be able to connect at least SOME people from widely dissimilar societies?
Could an American person (of any ethnicity) for example find kinfolk in Albania and Angola even if they don’t share the same ethnic background?? (I know it wouldn’t be easy, but is it possible?)
If say two people chosen at random (e.g. subscribers to the Straight Dope Message Board) started checking back into their respective family trees, how far back would they have to go before their respective family trees finally converge? (Could Cecil be your Eighth Cousin, Twice Removed???)
