Being photographed sitting on the lap of a central Asian despot might have something to do with her current status in Hollywood.
For a moment or two I thought that your Siggie was a continuation of the tweet. But apparently it was just one of those happy coincidences.
Sounds like it’s been donebefore.
That one looks way better! (By better I mean ridiculously terrible but fun instead of just stupid)
Ice-t!
Rutgers hauer!
Charles S. Dutton!
Gary Busy!..ok, maybe not !
F. Murray Abraham!
John C. McGinty!
I wanna watch this garbage tonight!
That doesn’t make sense; it’s the deplorables who have all the guns.
OK, sarcasm aside, this sounds like a movie with something to offend everyone.
This sounds like a poorly disguised ripoff of “The Hunger Games”, only featuring adults killing each other for sport.
But sadly, no MIT Romney.
…counterpoint: I had zero interest in this movie at all until I found out it was written by Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse (who was part of the Leftovers writing room) and directed by Craig Zobel (who directed the incredible “International Assassin” episode of the Leftovers) and now I’m utterly convinced that this movie will be a complete and utter mind-fuck that will defy expectations and has been elevated to my “must-see” list.
For a similar theme as described by the OP, check out the dark comedy God Bless America. Joel Murray (Bill’s brother) decides to take out the most offensive members of society since he’s got no life and may have terminal cancer anyway.
His definition of offensive isn’t quite the same as Clinton’s deplorables. Think more along the lines of people who talk in movie theaters, or who pound energy drinks all day, or who use terms like “edgy.”
It’s also not about a set hunting ground. He and his sidekick (a high school girl with her own issues) just kind of go off in the world and gun down anyone who pisses them off.
It’s really quite good.
I don’t know if it fits the bill but Red State by Kevin Smith was sort of entertaining a kind of Waco meets Fred Phelps-esque cult leader thing going on, I don’t know if it bares repeat watching but I found it original and entertaining.
Been done numerous times. The Ice-T Movie, one by Van Damme, and"The Most Dangerous Game" off the cuff. In the Van Damme movie they used bow and arrows and hunted them down in NYC. If they made it to the river they got to keep a money belt.
And yes, in all of them the hunted end up with their revenge.
Dennis
So it’s not about liberals doing the hunting; it’s about conservatives imagining what they’d be like if they were liberals.
I don’t want to watch it if Fred Phelps bares himself repeatedly.
Haha whoops
No.
the movie is not going to be released.
Universal Pictures pulls thriller The Hunt in the wake of two mass shootings | CNN Business
He’s dead.
Just for curiosity’s sake, what is your source?
So?
‘“Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?” one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”’
[emphasis mine]
That a major studio ever even considered making it in the first place is reprehensible.
Some people are clinging to the idea that it’s satire. But reverse the roles and imagine the reaction. The Hunt is a group of Social Justice Warriors released to be hunted by MAGA-hat wearers. Can you say “incitement?”
Wonder why Conservatives aren’t willing to compromise? Maybe because they are being asked to trust the side that thinks this could be at all humorous. (Which satire is supposed to be.)
