This movie reeked. This movie blew chunks. This movie sucked ass. It was horrible .
The plot was bad enough Benicio del Toro as a combat vet who goes psycho after some tough missions and hides out in some Portland(?!?) state park sorta place. TLJ-a genius tracker who, years ago, taught BdT combat and killing techniques, and how to make neato arrowheads-is sent to find him.Which he does…3 times. Then they fight…3 times. Then FBI agents step in…3 fucking times!! See a pattern?
I was embarrassed for TLJ for accepting this script. There is basically 1 action sequence repeated 3 times. It was ridiculous! My favorite part was when before the final “battle scene” BdT and TLJ are in the Portland (shit, it looks like a rainforest/abandoned aquifer thingie–do parts of Portland look like a frickin’ rainforest?) they have no weapons to fight with so they MAKE them. Seriously. Tommy makes a nifty arrowhead with a rock he found and Benicio (get this shit) makes a lil campfire, takes a metal bar he found on the ground, gets it red-hot and strikes it into a fucking KNIFE!!! A KNIFE!!
Along with the shitty editing and the worst computer animation/super-imposing (do they even DO super-imposing anymore?) sequence in a looong time, I do not recommend this movie. Even the couple behind us walked out after 30 minutes. BLECCH!!!
Sounds like First Blood.
Thats what a lot of reviews have been calling the Hunted, a First Blood knockoff… ::shrugs::
I almost saw this movie too, ended up seeing Willard instead.
I’ve seen them both. Willard is better.
Why didn’t TLJ just take a gun with him when he went after Del Toro? Also, how did Benicio manage to make those elaborate, Wile E. Coyote style traps all by himself in such a short amount of time?
I’ll just jump in to say that the city scenes were filmed in Portland, while the outdoor bits were filmed in Silver Falls Park, about an hour and a half south of Portland. Yes, the park really does look like that. Fantastic place. I’m looking forward to the film, just for spotting NW landmarks.
I’m sure he was thinking with his wallet.
When I saw the ads for this, I thought the exact same thing, except my sympathy was for Mr. Del Toro, who should be reading much better scripts than this.
