The ICE shooting in Minneapolis (1/7/2026)

For those who are interested, here is a deep dive (35-page PDF), called:

“Supporting and Defending the Constitution: A DOJ attorney’s guide to upholding ethical obligations and the rule of law”

Published by an outfit called – fittingly – Protect Democracy.

Google “Saturday night massacre” – it was key in bringing down a President.

I’m afraid that time is over. No political pressure will stop this guy, you know the saying: ‘something burn it all down just to be king of the ashes’.

Also didn’t something similar happen when the Air Traffic Controllers tried to strike against Reagan? Yet that didn’t stop him too much. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Every era has its own special circumstances, true, but I answered the specific question you asked, has resigning ever, without then asserting that it definitely will have an important impact in this era. I hope it will prove to be another pebble in an oncoming avalanche of consequences, but there’s no way to predict this with any degree of confidence. One can only hope.

Yes. One has to understand Trump’s psychology. On one level, he knows he’s destroying everything, but on another level, he wants to be, and even thinks he is, a real president, Mommy, a REAL President!!! So he puts a nutjob incompetent like Bondi in but also thinks, “It’s still the REAL DOJ, and people are going to believe it’s real–and COMPLY!!!” So yes, when people resign the shitshow, it does affect him.

You’re right. I appreciate the answer.
I unintentionally meant has it done anything for this administration. The dude hasn’t left the right wing sphere for almost a decade. He’s been a thorn in my side for over a third of my life.

ETA: accidentally deleted half this post.

ICE is firing flash-bang grenades into crowds of peaceful protesters in Minneapolis.

Heh. I was aware of the Saturday night massacre because I lived through those times, recently out of college.

I just reported it. Everyone else here should do the same thing.

ETA: The fundraiser on Givesendgo has a whopping $75 as of right now.
