I don’t think these guys at the Michigan Capitol protesting COVID rules were carrying water guns, yet I didn’t hear anyone on the right complain about what these guys were holding
Walz needs to pull another McAuliffe.
I can’t help but be moved by the re-emergence of the stalwart and ubiquitous Classic Conservative Double Standard:
- The only one at fault in a gun homicide is the one who pulled the trigger, and/or
- EVERYBODY BUT the shooter(s) – in this case, Federal LEOs – is to blame for these deaths.
Sometimes known as “situational ethics.”
I wonder for how long this criminal administration is going to be able to hide the identity of their murderous fucking nazi goon.
NBC is still trying to both-sides their coverage of the murder.
Was there only one shooter? I couldn’t watch closely enough to tell.
I didn’t watch, but point taken. Pluralize as necessary.
Accessories, if you like.
trump would probably decimate a village in retaliation. (And MAGA would eat it up.)
Some people are going to be scrambling to sign up for this job.
Two days later the shooter has not been identified by authorities yet…
So we have a job where you can exercise authority, shoot and kill people, get paid for it, you get full immunity from killing, you get to keep your job, and you get to remain anonymous.
Really, where’s the downside here?
Something tells me this time we’re not going to get the identification of the shooter or shooters.
The unwillingness of the congresscritter to call “utter bullshit” is part of the problem. Continuing to play nice while the administration lies to our collective face isn’t helping.
We have some Republican governors speaking up but they don’t have any power at this point. I guess one could say they have some influence but I have no idea if it will have any impact on the system.
From Heather Cox Richardson’s Substack this morning:
Yesterday, after Alex Pretti’s death, the son of a man Pretti had cared for at the VA hospital published a video of Pretti speaking at his father’s deathbed. “Today we remember that freedom is not free,” Pretti said. “We have to work at it, nurture it, protect it, and even sacrifice for it. May we never forget and always remember our brothers and sisters who have served so that we may enjoy the gift of freedom. So in this moment, we remember and give thanks for their dedication and selfless service to our nation in the cause of our freedom. In this solemn hour, we [give] them our honor, and our gratitude.”
My bold.

And this is exactly why these murders wear masks. They are a criminal gang.
ICE is hiring psychopaths. I do not think there is any filter there. Any goon willing to bash heads is their kinda person. And those goons are flocking to be hired by ICE. They can bash heads and never get in trouble. And get paid to do it (which means you and me are paying for it).
ETA: These are Trump’s Brownshirts. I really mean that. The similarities can’t be missed.
And it doesn’t just shield their identity from us and/or cameras, it dawned on me a few days ago that it shields their identity from each other. If one of the other people standing over Pretti when he was murdered would happen to be ID’d and arrested, I’m betting he couldn’t, even if he wanted to, tell you the shooter’s name or pick him out of a lineup.
You’d think if they work together they’d know each other. Driving in the same car and all that.
That said, I see little in the way of uniforms. How do they know who is and is not an ICE agent?
Seems like you could throw on a mask, tactical vest, go murder people on the streets, and disappear, and you’ll get off scott free because you’ll blend into the all the ICE doing that.

When I watched the murder video of Pretti the first time, I couldn’t tell who the ICE folks were.
They were the ones that were still alive and unharmed when it was done.
