Oh Miss Scarlett , have you ever tried this. When I was a young girl, I think I remember, I got a burn from hell and bought vinegar and poured it in my bath tub with water. When I got in I thought I had gone straight to hell and passed go. I came up screaming nearth death. This older lady, every bit of 20’ told me to put on COLD can milk, it’s heavier than regular milk. It saved my life as it draws the fevor or heat out and dries and you just repeat it until you can at least live.

Aspirin is probably the single most effective thing at reducing sunburn pain that I’ve ever found- better than vinegar, witch hazel, lotion, etc…

Often, when people think they have no alcohol handy, they do have hand sanitizer gel. It does the trick on whiteboards.

Also good if you’re changing a wound dressing and find maggots underneath but you didn’t bring any rubbing alcohol. Squirt a mound of hand sanitizer into a bowl and drop the maggots in. The alcohol kills them so they don’t crawl at you while you’re trying to clean the wound.
Okay, so it probably doesn’t have a real wide application, but it’s a tip I greatly appreciated once!
