He hasn’t. They’re two persons
NO they are not.
I have just heard that the writers changed the name as they thought that Bruce was too “Swish” or in others words gay
Hate to break it to you. The spoiler’s right.
How can it be two different people??
You’re confusing David Banner (played by Nick Nolte) with his son Bruce (played by some other guy).
The choice of the father’s first name is no doubt due to the TV series starring Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno, in which the main character’s name was changed from the apparantly swishy Bruce (Bruce Jenner notwithstanding) to David.
I haven’t read the relevant comic books, but I’ll bet comic-Bruce’s father was only introduced after the TV series aired, when the writers were looking for a more detailed psychological explanation for his Hulking out, and an abusive father fit the bill. I don’t know offhand if the comic-father was also named David.
I read that Bruce/David’s abusive father was named Brian but I could tell whether he was invented after the TV show or not. You are probably right.
That “other guy” who plays Bruce Banner is the Australian actor Eric Bana who you may recognise as the enigmatic Delta Force soldier, Norm Hoot, in the movie Black Hawk Down.
