Has anyone else noticed this? There’s a level on the singleplayer part of Halo 2 where, if you get one of your Marines to fall down a cliff, he’ll let out the same scream Howard Dean did after the 2004 Iowa caucus. Very funny easter egg from the Bungie gang.
Interesting sidenote: Michelle Rodriguez, David Cross, Laura Prepon and Orlando Jones all contributed their voices to the game as Marines. I’ve definitely noticed Cross and Prepon while playing, but I’ve never heard the other two. I think I’ll have to go beat the singleplayer campaign again…
I probably would’ve noticed such a detail in Halo 1, but honestly, Halo 2’s campaign bored me to tears. I’ve only bothered playing it through twice, whereas I know Halo 1’s campaign so well that I can predict exactly where Covenant units will spawn in any given area.
I must admit that I have not completed Halo 2 even once.
I do have a bit of a habit of getting 4/5 the way through a game then coming across some hurdle that I can’t get past. Several months later I will return to it, find the previously impassable hurdle ridiculously easy to overcome and then finish the game. Halo 2 was different. In Halo 2 I just got bored with it.
