It takes a bitter person to rail against that which gives us hope.
The Iraqi election evoked the same emotion as the fall of the Berlin Wall or the images of the person standing defiant in Tiananmen Square. Triumph of the human spirit is universal in its appreciation. It cannot be denied, and it cannot be inverted for political gain.
The same emotion? Not in me it didn’t! The Iraqi elections are merely the desperate manipulations of an invading superpower which is trying to find something with which to justify its invasion and the resulting bloodshed.
