The Jeopardy thread [was James Holzhauer][contains spoilers]

We just had the “Who’s on First” FJ.

When? Where?

j/k

In Chicago, the station shows a [Trebek] rerun at 2:30 AM. If the new episode is preempted, they show it then.

I think you need an article for this one: “The Who”?

You’d also have to inflect the title of the movie: “Who’s Afraid of Virgina Woolf?”?

IIRC, there was a category when Alex was hosting called something like “Perfect Responses” where each answer was already in the form of a question and you could tell that the writers envisioned the players just answering “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” (but they kept adding on the extra “What is” part.)

I don’t get it.

I also think Amodio is on the spectrum. Thought that from the first day. But IMHO, many of the champs have been.

JEOPARDY! NEWS FLASH: Remember Frank Spangenberg, the record-breaking champ in the '90s? He was also briefly a friend of mine, just before that time. He’s currently running for NYC City Council in Queens. Good luck, Frank!

I definitely remember Frank (and his mustache). IIRC, he was the first contestant to break $100K, back when the maximum values on the board were $500 and $1000.

Good luck indeed. I remember him as a class act.

I don’t give a darn

“The Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf”??? Doesn’t make sense.

JUST KIDDING. And you’re right of course about “THE Who” but I went ahead with the idea anyway.

He’s the shortstop.

Jeopardy is a 7 day champ winning $268,800. Matt Amodio is doing really well. Hopefully he’ll continue the streak for another week.

Is Matt the first big winner in the post Trebek Era?

Its hard for me to keep up with how long the winning streaks last. Especially with the host changing regularly.

I found Levar Burton mediocre as host. Can’t understand what all the anticipatory excitement over him was about.

We thought he’d be really good

I uncharitably wondered if he had a history of substance abuse.

Yes, but why? All I know him from is Roots and a couple guest shots on The Big Bang Theory.

He was on Star Trek: TNG for its entire run. That must count for something.

He also hosted Reading Rainbow on PBS, so he should be relaxed when taping a live show.

Just finished his last 2 shows, and my response is NOT CORRECT! for permanant host. He talks way too loud when giving the clues and too loud when saying if the answers are right or not. Sounds like he is talkkng to kids. That and the fact that both he and his fans seem to think it is his by right annoys me

Never saw it. I only ever watched the original series and the movies.
