The Khadaji Memorial Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

I’m starting to think: “Go Chiefs”!

Whatever happens in SD, at least the Ravens won’t get in. We can all agree on that.

Let’s Go KC’s Scrubs!!

KC misses the field goal that would have won in regulation. I want to punch everything.

Welp, that was closer than I would have ever dreamed. I feel like I should take it back when I said the Steelers were ‘dead but still warm.’ Sorry, Steelers fans.

Well, allmost. But when you have to root for the Bengals, Jets and Chiefs in order for your team to make the playoffs, you don’t really deserve to be in them. Still, much better finish of the year than I expected mid-season…

Clearly, they were trying to lose.

Now I know how Bills fans have felt for the last 22 years. I have a name for my pain, and it is Ryan Succop. It almost happened, but thanks to a Shankapotamus Rex from a guy who does nothing but kick footballs for a living it came up short.

Anyway, congratulations to the Chargers. I would have liked to have seen what happened had 20 of 22 starters not been sitting on the sideline watching, but thanks to a Herculean effort from the Chiefs’ backups it was Right. There.

So, with the Steelers now officially and irrevocably out of the playoffs, we can close the door on this thread. As bad as the season started, it ended with a truly excellent team missing literally by inches. Thanks for not giving up, the fans certainly didn’t.

Would you care to comment on your earlier post about the difference of “dumping a game” when you’re the Chiefs and “dumping a game” when you’re the Steelers?

Are you kidding? Yeah, that kick sucked, and Succop is on my short list of people I’d like to see given an atomic wedgie (or something). But you can’t honestly compare his wide right to Scott Norwood’s. That wide right changed the lives of so many people. The Bills could have been one of the truly dominant dynasties in history. Instead, they lose that game, go on to lose three more super bowls and never win one. That miss also turned bill Parcells into a HOF coach, who shouldn’t have a Super Bowl ring from that year if only Norwood’s kick found home.

Ryan Succop missed a kick to help put a Steeler team in the playoffs. A team which, if it didn’t lose some truly pathetic games during the season wouldn’t have depended on Succup to make the kick in the first place.

Bills fans have a pain that no Steeler fan can imagine. I don’t care if you are the worlds biggest Steeler fan. You will wake up tomorrow and the Steelers still have 6 rings. I think you are being a bit over the top here.

I have to say I’m amused that finally a referring fuckup actually went against the Steelers for once - it just had to do so by being from a game where the Steelers weren’t playing.

As soon as the refs didn’t review the OT 4th down fumble and spot, I knew that Goodell was not going to let us in the playoffs. And now this…

BTW, I will add that the Succop miss was just bad luck. But calls simply were not going to go KC’s way.

We shall never forgive or forget the disgrace they should have suffered by sneaking out of Baltimore in the middle of the night.

I hope you are joking…

This sort of conspiracy theorizing is pathetic.

Pathetic.

Is there seriously a Steelers fan complaining that the NFL is conspiring against them? Are you off your meds? Your owners practically run the league. The NFL kisses more Steeler ass than it does any other franchise.

The 2007 Colts earned the right to mail it in for the last few weeks of the season. Anyway, they were promptly smote by the football gods.

So it’s only possible for the league to conspire for the Steelers, and not against them. Now I get it.:dubious:

It’s possible for the league to conspire against whoever it likes. It’s not plausible that the league conspired against the Steelers. I don’t think the league has ever conspired for the Steelers, either, at least not on the field* - it’s just that if they had a general policy of doing that, the Steelers would be the last team suffering from it.

*All evidence from Super Bowl XL to the contrary.

Yeah Steelers, that Succop kick was what kept you out of the playoffs…not losing to teams like Oakland and Minnesota or anything…
