Didn’t see any threads about this. I didn’t expect or even want to like this show but it’s grown on me. Not so much the characters or even the story lines as it is the whole depiction of medicine in the 1900’s. That’s like a character in itself. I knew about the operating room theaters, but seeing how surgeons routinely operated without gloves blew my mind. Then the mercury infused steam to treat migraines. Mercury is a freaking poison! And that episode where the woman with no nose came in threw me for a loop. I had no idea syphilis caused that.
Anybody have any thoughts on it?
