The pollsters are putting out numbers like Clinton will get 85%+ of the black vote.
Yet Trump has explained how he can get 95% of the black vote.

Yeah, in 2020, for his re-election.
Trump may be the world’s biggest idiot, but he’s not claiming he’ll get the black vote this year.
I think Kellyanne Conway might be doing some good, until Trump gets tired of her. She’s the candidate manager, and maybe she’s good at the job. (People say that as a pollster she’s not qualified to be a campaign manager, but she’s not running things like an ordinary campaign manager.)
I can’t imagine the head of Breitbart is getting Trump to stick to the teleprompter. Conway travels with Trump everywhere, the way Corey lewandowski did. (Also Hope Hicks. Haven’t seen her in the news for a while.) So maybe she knows some secret technique to get Trump to be quiet.
The media reported that Trump said he would get 95% of the black vote. Link: Trump predicts he can win 95 percent of the black vote - POLITICO However some of the links said he would win that vote in 2020.
He has said some crazy stuff. Although, it likely went over the head of many people, at least those who don’t know their history. His rhetoric on race this week reminds me very much of the rhetoric of southerners in the 1950s and 60s. For instance, he’s been characterizing the black community as a monolithic pot of votes taken for granted by the Democrats, today’s version of the 1950s/60s “liberals”. In prior decades, social conservatives in the south denounced the same thing and the term they used for it was “block voting”. The line of argument was also very similar in that it was implied blacks were somehow being taken advantage of and getting nothing in return for their support. Tonight, Trump explicitly called Clinton a bigot. This was also typical behavior among southerners who railed against those who advocated for the rights of minorities. There is a publication called “The Citizens Council”, a racist newspaper distributed throughout the south during the 1950s and 60s. It contains articles and cartoons which denounce the NAACP as well as other people and groups as being composed of bigots because these civil rights activists were protesting against segregation.
First sentence in that link.
I expected Trump to declare that since Hillary has pneumonia she is unfit to be President. Instead he is quoted as saying he hopes she gets well soon. That worries me.
It’s still crazy talk.
Of course if Trump wins, the only black people who’ll still be eligible to vote in 2020 will be Clarence Thomas and Michael Steele.
He never has been crazy. Deal with it.
Yes. This is exactly the way that sane Republicans have always acted.
I’ve never been able to deal with that, though.
Birtherism is crazy nutjob stuff. Maybe it was calculated, since a significant portion of the Republican electorate believes in this evidence-free bigoted crap, but it’s still crazy.
His response to Hillary’s health crisis so far has been low key and appropriate. He had a physical last week and will be releasing detailed results soon.
Maybe he’s finally learning to act appropriately as a Presidential candidate? I hope so. Only time will tell. Still got 2 months before the election.
Why not right away? Cerebral leprosy is treatable, after all. And this is a guy who not only cannot do the stairmaster, he cannot walk downstairs! Needs an escalator! And his wife!
He should nip down to his ranch and clear some brush.
Isn’t his big health reveal supposed to happen(if it happens at all) on The Dr. Phil Show? In what way is that “acting appropriately”? Do you still think that what you’ll get is a straightforward release of his medical records?
Edited to add: Strike that-Supposedly this is supposed to happen on The Dr. Oz Show. I guess those fraudsters just gotta stick together.
Okay. But narcissistic, racist, dishonest and ignorant is still accurate, right?
Well, Donald has finally admitted that President Obama was born in the USA. Is that crazy enough ?
Orly must pretty bummed.
One more time, take away [Hillary’s bodyguards] their guns, see what happens to her.
If that is not “stochastic terrorism”, what is?
I just posted this in another Election thread then saw your post here, so I figured I’d repost it here:
What’s the big deal? Seriously?
I really don’t get the panties in the wad over this. There are required to be met for being President. One is being a natural born citizen. If someone has a more exotic upbringing, like Obama, or even McCain for that matter, shouldn’t someone check it out?
Now if people are STILL questioning Obama’s eligibility today, then that’s problem—for them. But the way I see it, Obama had an exotic upbringing, it was looked into (as it should have been) and that ends it. Trump, as far as I’ve heard today, did state that Obama was born here. So, why is this still a problem? Why is it racism? As I said, it seems to me that it has to do with the fact that he had a more exotic childhood than most. No?
I answered you in the other thread.
Obama was born in Hawaii. That’s not exotic. It’s also all that matters. Period. Totally different from McCain. Everybody honest and intelligent in every party and of every political persuasion knew this every minute of the time.
The people who were not honest or intelligent were told the results after the honest and intelligent people checked them out. That should have stopped any further comment after five minutes. Trump kept it up for five years.
Is racism the sole answer as to why? No. There are dozens of other deplorable, unpalatable, slimy, dirty, disgusting, and souldraining reasons, all of which can properly be applied in addition. In addition. Racism still makes a very big percentage of the whole.
As has been said over and over for eight years, so it can’t be a surprise.
