I don’t think that applies to Scarborough, and he has his own show every AM. Whether that applies to the others… I don’t know.
Oh no, not the dreaded false equivalency bs again.
Names?
I watch all 3 networks somewhat regularly, and that’s how it comes off to me. Sorry if you disagree.
I agree with this. Of the three main ones (CNN, FOX, and MSNBC) only CNN makes a concerted effort to be neutral.
And how do they do this, exactly?
Of course MSNBC isn’t neutral but FOX News doesn’t even make an attempt to put legitimate representative of the other side on their network. MSNBC does a somewhat better job in that regard.
CNN is just garbage. They try so hard to be “neutral” that they lose any sort of objectivity whatsoever.
By the language used, by the art used in reporting a story, by the way the headlines are written on the website. It’s subtle if you aren’t looking for it.
How can you try to so hard to be neutral that you lose all objectivity? That doesn’t even make sense.
I actually agree with Ambivalid that trying too hard to be neutral can make you lose your objectivity.
For example, if a republican says, “The moon is made of cheese”, someone trying to remain neutral would not call them out on this demonstrably false lie. They might report it as, “Consensus not yet reached on composition of lunar surface.”
However, even though CNN might engage in the fallacy of being “too neutral” when it is unwarranted, that doesn’t at all address what I was talking about, that is, the banter between the pundits.
On MSNBC and on Fox News, the pundits just constantly bash one side. There is no thoughtful dialogue.
I actually like the disagreements and debates, and the panels that CNN has, regardless of overall that they are too neutral.
Sure it does.
I understand what you meant now. But I think CNN does a pretty decent job, especially during this election, of calling out both sides on the BS.
I completely agree with you on the so-called “liberals” on Fox News. They are ridiculous for the most part.
Al Sharpton
Sally Kohn
Bob Beckel
Charlie Rangel
Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
Dick Morris never WAS a Democrat. I remember being puzzled by Clinton choosing him as his adviusor and campaign manager exactly BECAUSE he wasn’t a Democrat.
MSNBC doesn’t pretend to be fair and balanced.
Al Sharpton is a host on MSNBC, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve ever seen him featured on FOX.
Bob Beckel is a joke.
Charlie Rangel…I’ve never seen him on Fox.
Debbie Wasserman Schultz, ok so you got ONE.
Many here pretend that they are though.
It sounds to me that Fox’s idea of fair and balanced is having 4 Conservatives against 1liberal or moderate, and then having them talk over the liberal or moderate, so he/she can’t be heard. Never having a good word for Obama, even when Osama was killed doesn’t sound fair to me.Un-afraid…well apparently not ,but maybe they should be?
You must have a lot of fingers! He’s on O’Reilly quite often.
Says you.
You watch it 24/7?
No, I got 5.
And I didn’t count the late Geraldine Ferraro, since she is no longer with us.
The CNN host allows the guest enough time to discuss their view without interruption (except for commercial break which is about every 3 minutes). A FOX host will typically interrupt and ridicule any views being expressed by a guest who is a democrat or liberal.
