We just returned last week from a trip to NYC, where Katie Couric was outside the Today Show set posing for photos with fans after the show. I let my kids pose with her because they were excited to meet a celebrity, but I refrained on accounta I HATE KATIE COURIC!

A while back, they had on that author whose husband cheated on her with a man, turned out to be gay, and now she was getting a divorce but talking about it all over the TV for lord knows what reason. Anywho, Katie actually asked her this question:

I heard the most disturbing thing on the August 28 SETI Podcast . . . Seems that publishers are cutting back on science coverage because they have a hard time getting advertisers. Seems they feel that readers who are interested in science are too smart to make decisions based on advertising.
So, I guess that means that dumb demographics are desirable.
