I’ve FINALLY sent that stoopit cover letter in. Praise the Lord.
ETA: ems, Olive doesn’t react to catnip at all. It’s so weird, but we figure it’s for the best since she’s batshit insane without it anyway.

Haze, sooo cute.
(((((Pie and TVMan)))))
Just walked home from Lazy Husband’s through a Winter Storm. It’s only -5, but the wind’s gusting over 30kph and it’s snowing horizontally. Time for bed.
Told you in the other thread, but I’ll tell you again, Cutie Pie: sorry for the loss of TVPup. Hugs to you and TVMan.
Rebo (at least I think it was Rebo): **BooFae ** is scheduled to to the MMP on the 10th. You could have the 17th, if you don’t mind waiting that long…
Too bad it wasn’t a better show, FCM. I think consignment sounds like a good idea.
Hope the grumpies subside, rigs.
I’m sleepy. Just got back from dinner following the baptism of LocalBestFriend’s baby. It was very nice. A lot of her family was there and I got to chat and catch up with everyone (they’re one of my emergency back-up families).
Off to beddie bye.

Stepping in for Haze:
Drunken post!!!
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee…
The BBQ place in town had a ‘soft opening’ today, and put the dirty comments away… It was ‘training night’ befiore they open for real on Monday.
Dinner was free, but they limited us ‘invited guests’ to TWO DRINKS!!!
which necessiateted a trip next door to the open to the public bar where they have no limiits so long as your AMEX holds up.
Tomorrow is bears game + tailgating for three hours, followed by an evening visit after the game to get wings abnd (surprise!) beer.
Monday is looking very very iffy. morning at least.
Well, at least someone is having a fun Saturday night.
I’m a bit frustrated today because of a talk I had with a friend yesterday, who kept trying to convince me that I needed to tell Victorian Heroine about That Guy and me. Soooooooo many reasons why that’s a bad idea. Ugh.
Swampy’s in town! Whereabouts in San Jose are you staying?
I got a hair cut, finished my moebius cowl, and started the 2nd “feather” in the Feathers shawl, went car shopping, then shoe shopping (everyone had clothes on this time), and found a book that I had thought wasn’t ever going to be released. All in all, a good day.
It looks like all the nasty weather we were promised has moved farther north, so now we’re facing a chance of rain tonight, but that’s all. Now, I’m not a huge fan of cold rain, but we really could have used it and I intended to spend the day inside anyhow. Ah well…
I just dashed off a request to last year’s critter sitter to see if she can pop in and tend to Miss Brandy while we’re in FL. Since our previous sitter decided to desert us ( to Idaho!) We’ll take the dogs to visit their Ocala cousin (who is going to have issues with Scruffy, I think, since they’re both alpha bitches.) I’d prefer to have someone stay at the house, but I don’t see that happening over Christmas. So with luck, Cheyenne will be able to pop in to check food and scoop poo.
Speaking of Miss Brandy, she cracked me up this morning. While I was still curled up under the covers, contemplating the transition from horizontal to vertical, she hopped up on my pillow. I didn’t react - just pretended to be sleeping. Rather than smack me, she went around (I was on my side) to my back, discovered a slight gap in the covers near my neck, and crawled under then stretched out against my spine. No muss, no fuss - just assumed her rightful place. She wasn’t too happy when my bladder disturbed us both.
You might notice my penmanship is somewhat different. <snerk> OK, maybe it’s not as obvious from the typing, but I’m sitting lower at the desk. Yesterday, whatever part maintains seat height on this chair failed completely. Along with a lowered seat, the greasy center post left a nasty black circle on my cream colored carpet. I attacked the grease while **FCD ** made some spacers which raised the height a bit, but not nearly enough. I would like the chair to be at least 2-3" higher - I feel like I’m sitting on the floor! It’s a super comfy executive style chair so I don’t want to replace it. I just want it to be like it was - is that asking too much?? Why must things change? Different isn’t necessarily better! Woe is me! Woe is me!!!
That was a *little * over the top, wasn’t it?? Just wait till the caffeine kicks in!
Hey, swampy reappeared. Hooray!
Today is a little bit better here. We’re heading to my house to visit with my puppies in a little bit and we’re going to try to bring PiePup #1 back here with us for the evening. I like this suggestion (which was all TVMan’s) because I am not allergic to the PiePups, but I was to TVPup. And he’s talking about getting another Lab mix the next time around. (The PiePups are all Schnoodles.) It’s my hope that we can find a nice Labradoodle that needs rescued, thus, the best of both worlds. Both of us are a bit snotty today after cleaning the house here yesterday.
FCM, my new-to-the-purpose computer chair is too low for me to comfortably reach my keyboard either. It’s built that way, though, I’m using a porch chair because that’s all that was available. I have to sit on two cushions like a little kid so I can type comfortably. One day I’ll have a real computer desk like a big kid.
I have to make cupcakes, and I can’t find the damn liners, which have been on the kitchen counter for weeks. Where the hell did they go?
Also, it’s all snowy here, and it’s supposed to be freezing rain. The snow part is pretty.
Time for tea and frantic baking.
They’re right in front of you, LiLi! Don’t you see them? No, not there…just to the left of that. Hope you found them.
Glad things are going better today, PieBabe.
How’s the head this morning, MBG?
I’m up! I woke up a couple of times, but not till after 5, which was good, and didn’t wake up the final time till after 9 (unheard of!). Yay!
It’s raining outside when what I really want to do is be out there finishing with garden clean up. It seems to be intermittent, so I suspect I’ll be out there for a while anyway.
Off to face the day…

Another half-day in Jerusalem… this is starting to interfere with work But first things first. I hope my father will be release to Rehab on Wednesday or so – at least that’s in Tel-Aviv!
**Haze **-- yay for finishing the &*^%ed cover letter And for letting somebody else do the Drunken Post for a change! (How’s the head, MBG??
:D)
And yes, there’s absolutely no reason you should be the one to break the news to VH – although you realize she will find out, eventually?
Glad things are better today, CuteyPie! (or was that yesterday ^%$#ed time zones!)
The head is fine thank you. The shoulder, and the back, and oh yes one of muy fingers are quite sore from the tumble I took off the porch in the ice yesterday.
Oh yes, and the weather sucks. And in 30 minutes, I’m off to my friend’s house to go to the Bears game where we will tailgate, then sit in the cold, windy rainy weather.
Where’s my Advil…?
Shadow I am in the Holiday Inn Silicon Valley on Silicon Valley Blvd., if that makes sense. I just saw your post upthread. I’ve been havin’ internet issues until I got here and just caught up sorta on the MMP. I’m workin’ starting this evening through the day Wednesday but am free for dinner Wednesday night if you wanna. PM me and I can go into !more detail.
Ok, I need to clean up and go find food.
Later Y’all!
Up and caffeinated. Off to Mass, then work. Canes lost last night, 8-1  It took a lot of beer to kill that pain.
Hi, everybody. I started developing a headache – probably from the weather front that’s passing through – last night, and woke up this morning with it still going strong. I stayed in bed an extra hour to see if that would help, but it didn’t, so I finally gave up and got up. Here’s hoping enough caffeine helps. Not that it has thus far, but I can always hope.
Cool museum, Spaz. There’s one in D.C> that I keep meaning to visit, the National Museum of Health and Medicine, where they have all kinds of interesting exhibits, including the bullet that shot Lincoln, the amputated leg of a Civil War general who sent it there and came to visit it often, and all kinds of other gruesome things. One of these days I’ll get there, I swear. I love me some good gruesome museum exhibits.
We may get some snow showers today. I’ll believe it when I see it. But the front that’s wreaking havoc across the Northeast and up LiLi and Mork’s way mostly moved north of us, too. Thank heaven, it’s a nasty one. I’m not ready for a nasty snowstorm yet. After New Year’s will be fine, thank you.
I guess I’d better go do something constructive. Or not.
**MamaTigs ** - that looks like a super-neato-cool museum. I didn’t even know it existed! **FCD ** and I will be checking it out for sure.
Today is laundry day, mostly. If I get motivated enough, I’ll clean the fridge. Plus I’ve got a chunk of beef that I’ll cook in the rotisserie for supper. Mostly, it’s a no-sweat day.
I’m going to put an ad on our BB at work and see if I can sell some of the arrangements. I don’t want to have to store them till next Christmas - they’ll get dirty or all messed up, most likely. Fortunately, they’re easily stored in my car, so I can do business right there in the parking lot! Plus I may actually be able to send another check to my charity of choice by the end of the year. Goodness knows, I barely met expenses at the bazaar, so no cash from that. I half-heartedly looked for other craft shows in the next week or so, but I don’t rell want to mess with them.
Besides, next Sunday is our anniversary - I can think of things I’d rather do than selling stuff all day. (Or not selling, as the case may be.)
OK, if there’s a Shadow/**swampy ** dinner, there durn well better be pics!!!
Ya know, I had a big ol’ long post, but it got eaten up. So, I’m not gonna type it all out again.
Appropriate yays, hugs, boos, where needed.
I’m still trying to wake up. It’s another dreary day. We never got any snow accumulation yesterday. The Olympic Penninsula, along with places north of us got accumulation. It snowed gangbusters here, but it never stuck.
I guess I should get myself going for the day. Chores to be done.
swampy, I PM’d you.
FCM, I’ll bring a camera. I’ll even recharge the batteries first.
Speaking of cameras, here’s my cashmere moebius cowl. This is the project I’m working on right now. It’s called Feathers and while it doesn’t look like much at the moment, it’s going to be beautiful. The yarn is so soft and squishy. I’m using my Harmony Knit Picks needles and they are a dream to knit with. I like them better than the Options.
I need to get the car washed and pick up the laundry. I also need to find some teeny-tiny needles that I put in a safe place. It’s a very safe place, because I haven’t seen them in a while.
I slept til 8.30 today which is great!
I got called into work last night got home about 9PM and it was 40 degs outside. I plugged in the space heaters I have as it was 57 degs in the house! I could not get warm so I went to bed. Libby the crazy kitty slept next to my feet under the covers all night with her little arm kinda thrown over my leg to help me keep warm. I think she likes me :D. I currently have the bathroom warming up so I am off to take a shower once I have had my coffee and brekkie. Then I will be off to buy some space heaters to I can return the ones everyone at work lent me for the weekend and buy ingredients for cookie making next weekend as well as do laundry and pack for my trip to Denver this week
