Anyone reading this? It’s a new book about Percy Fawcett, the British explorer who disappeared into the Amazon, and was supposedly the inspiration for Indiana Jones. I’m only a few chapters in, but it’s fantastic so far, and apparently a pretty big book. Anyone else pick this up?
I have it on hold at the library - I think I’m number 21.
Yikes…hope you can get a copy before that! Even if not, it’s worth the wait.
Just finished it on Kindle. Good book, very interesting, and quite horrifying.
By the way, if you like this sort of exploration book, I’d recommend the following:
White Nile, by Alan Moorehead
Blue Nile, by Alan Moorehead
Darkest Jungle: The True Story of The Darien Expedition, by Todd Balf
Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival, by Yossi Ghinsberg
