Is there statistical evidence or a cite that supports “fat slobs” are infact “the only winners of gigantic multi-state lotteries”, or was this just an incredibly insensitive or bigoted remark?
The cards were chosen at random. I’m assuming that to get an order like that from a fresh pack, everyone would have to continue to draw the topmost/bottommost cards from the deck.
A good question. As I remember the bidding, the guy opened one Diamonds, the opponents established that they had a spade suit on their bids, so they overbid his 7 Diamonds second bid. I believe they made their 7 Spades hand.
I have no idea what the guy thought his opening bid was going to do. It’s not like his partner had any diamonds or that he would need high cards in his partner’s hand.
As far as other rare occurances, hasn’t someone won the New Jersey state lottery jackpot twice?
This is exactly my point. Had he bid 7 diamonds in the first place, the opponents would not have had the opportunity to establish their spade grand slam. The only bid that makes sense with a all suit hand is 7 on your first bid.
