The (Lucky) 13th Annual Steelers March to the Super Bowl Thread

Talk about sour grapes.

Is the fine more or less than they’ll be paid for advancing to the next round of the playoffs?

Predictions anyone?

Truthfully, I don’t think that Pittsburgh has a chance. That’s hard for me to say, but they’re just too damaged to win. I want them to win, of course, but it would take something remarkable to make that happen.

So, anybody heard from FGIE? His silence speaks volumes.

I didn’t think they would make the playoffs at all so this is all House money they’re playing with but I also agree they probably won’t win today. Healthy they might be the best offense in the playoffs. The way they are? Not so much.

First offensive play needs to be as far as Ben can throw it.

Agreed. That way, if that turns out to be about 15 yards, we’ll all know to turn the TV off right then and there.

You were saying?

10-9 Pittsburgh at the half. They have a chance, somehow.

Still a 1-point lead to start the 4th. Still hopeful, and now cautiously optimistic.

Ouch, that fumble is going to hurt!

It sure is. Not looking so promising now.

23-13 Broncos, calling the final score right here.

You’re really going out on a limb there.

When will the Steelers learn to stop underestimating their opponents?

Really good play by Pittsburgh. Until that fumble I thought Denver was going to lose with just how terrible the offense has been. There is no way that Denver can do that again against New England and win. I think a healthier Steelers team would have won.

Please explain.

Well, that’s that. It was a much better performance than we had any right to expect. I’m disappointed, of course, but not upset. Congratulations to the Broncos, and please beat the Patriots.

I found myself in the unenviable position of rooting for the Steelers, since the Pats generally play terrible in Denver. But I just can’t be upset to see that scowl on Tomlin’s face. Steelers played better for most of that game and should have won, IMO.
