"The Minor Accomplishments of Jackie Woodman" returns 8/5

For those unfamiliar, “Jackie Woodman” is an IFC original series created, produced and starring Laura Kightlinger. She plays the title character, a writer for a nondescript Hollywood magazine who harbors dreams of becoming a screenwriter. The first season followed her attempts to write her pet screenplay, the story of her aunt who was a roller derby queen in the 1930s. The first season was somewhat uneven, taking aim at everything from Hollywood duplicity to cults of personality to Abu Ghiraib with varying degrees of success, but overall I thought it was well worth watching. I’ve been disappointed that it hasn’t been rerun. Season 2 starts tonight at IIRC 11:30 EDT (check your local listings).

Fine, more Jackie Woodman for me.
