I miss the old, intricate plots from the TV version. I’d love to see a M:I movie done in that style, but there probably aren’t enough like me to make it worth their while.
Saw an old rerun of Match Game with Greg Morris recently, and he mentioned that his son’s name was Philip. He grew up to be an actor, of course, including the late-80s revival of Mission:Impossible.
I liked the revival. Phil played the son of Barney, and there was the episode where they got Barney out of some hell-hole prison.
On Password Plus he was often the celebrity, and they sure seemed to like to emphasize “black” clues or puzzles there. It got really weird and awkward to this modern viewer.
It came up during the bonus round. The clue was ______ MORRIS, and one of the celebs offered Philip Morris, which I think turned out to be the $250 response. And then Greg said that was his son’s name. No one knew at the time that Phil would grow up to be famous in his own right.
