Well, I’ve read the letter from April 22nd on, and if there is any group of people that Grand Rapids citizens wish to deny health care, it is their elected officials.

I found a cite about a recent death in the local county jail that appeared to have no connection to a denial of medical care. I read the letters that had appeared from the day after that death up to the time I posted and (while there were some doozies!) found none that fit your description.

shrug Other posters have demonstrated that there certainly could have been such letters. Not you. You haven’t demonstrated jackshit. You’ve simply taken the recent death, conflated it with what you remember or misremember from six months ago, and spun that into a tangent in which you take undeserved shots at a particular group of people.

ambushed, if all you want to do is vent your unsupported rage, why don’t you scream in an empty room? OTOH, if you want to advance a position, in any forum, you’ll want to actually make a logical argument, supported by evidence. Otherwise, knock yourself out and don’t bother the rest of us.

If your position is that LARGE GROUP X contains SUBSET Y who are logically inconsistent and not very good guys–d’uh, point conceded, for any group you’d like to apply that to. Even if you weren’t so lazy that you won’t provide a single cite, no one would argue with this.

If your position is that this is typical of pro-lifers: provide something other than your half-assed rant. If not, who gives a shit?

Totally independent? What the fuck? That’s the Grand Rapids Press online edition. Type “Grand Rapids Press” into Google and that’s what you get. Scroll down to the bottom, click on “more letters,” and Bob’s your uncle. That you would not even make such a piddling effort, and then claim that your source does not provide online cites, is pretty lame and stupid.

Three things:

1. Revenant Threshold has a valid point, that prisoners voluntarily have given up certain rights through their actions, whereas unborn babies haven’t.

2. Most “pro-life” (that is, anti-abortion) people I know are through church, and most of them are anti-death-penalty as well, so I don’t know if your claim about the “huge number” is correct at all.

3. My “not me!” was not intended to be self-defensive or breast-beating, it was merely meant to point out the INvalidity of your observations. And I think wholely appropriate to this thread, so I dont’ think it’s necessary to start my own, thank you very much.
