The most disgusting or disturbing movie you have ever seen?

Hostel, although I don’t watch a lot of horror.

Audition.

Audition for me too. I decided right then that I’d seen a torture porn movie and didn’t need to see another. I didn’t like Happiness, for a lot of reasons, but I didn’t think it was all that disturbing. I think I was rolling my eyes too much to be disturbed by it.

Eraserhead

How can you even put Pulp Fiction in the same league as the other films mentioned in this thread? Other than the brief rape scene, what was supposed to be so disturbing?

Really, nothing can top “A Serbian Film.” Not only does it contain some of the most disgusting scenes ever put on camera, it’s actually beautifully filmed and shot with some quality acting. Which just makes the over the top depravity just that more disturbing.

Seconding “Aftermath” and “Deadgirl” as well, and I want to add “Martyrs” and “Visitor Q.” Oh, and “Irreversible.”

“The Human Centipede part 2” is way worse than the first one, what with the barbed wire rape and baby squishing scenes. Part 3 is pretty nasty as well, though I actually found it funny in how utterly crazy the performances were and the weird meta storyline.

“August Underground’s Mordum” is the film that probably held the distinction of sickest film before “A Serbian Film.” It was made to look like a very low budget home video about a family/group that tortured and killed people in this disgusting squalid house. One scene I remember was a man raping a putrefying corpse in a bathtub and getting covered in maggots.

Disturbing:

Requiem for a Dream. Great film.

Martyrs is the most relentlessly brutal movie I can think of. And a great film.

Gorutesku was very nasty. And a piece of crap.

A Serbian Film is a bit over the top. It tries so hard to be controversial that it becomes farcical.

Do not see any movie mentioned in this thread. Ever.

No, really.

Though not as extreme as some of the others mentioned,

Gummo. Not sure how to explain it, since there’s no plot. It’s basically a guy pointing a camera at rednecks and hillbillies in an exploitative way.

Eraserhead. Very very weird and horrific.

Ilsa, She Wolf of the SS. Gotta see it to believe it.

Uma’s “resuscitation” scene was pretty urk-inducing, even (or especially) for physicians.

Well, I’ve got three:

Megan is Missing. No, I don’t want to watch the last 20 minutes again. I’ve tried to give the dvd away.

Martyrs. Seen this a few weeks ago, french movie about woman who escaped after being tortured as a teenager and goes to get revenge. Goes waaaaaaay serious at one point shudder.

Irreversible. Took me about three months of watching this in 5 minute sequences. Deliberately uses the music and film to make you uncomfortable.

Marvin and his brain all over Jules and Vincent made a bunch of people gasp as well.

Martyrs is even more gruesome if you see the original (not edited for the usa market) version.

There was another thread about this a couple years back, and because of it, I decided to check out “The Human Centipede.”

By far the most disturbing film I’ve ever seen. Based on other reviews and Dopers, I will not watch the sequels. I won’t see “Salo,” nor will I see “A Serbian Film.”

Now, “Centipede” wasn’t too graphic, so I won’t say it was disgusting, but it was disturbing because of the Doctor:

The scene where he first wakes up the three people after the surgery, he’s so proud of himself that he begins to cry and kisses his own reflection in the mirror - that’s what made me queasy.

The Telephone with Whoopi Goldberg has the most horrific ending.

I was severely traumatized by the original “Funny Games”.

Funny you should ask, my husband and I were discussing this last night.

I haven’t seen too many outré movies. I’ve got the good sense to avoid stuff like the Human Centipede, though I do like Tarantino. So mine are pretty mild: one was Hellraiser, and the other was Natural Born Killers. *NBK *wouldn’t have been so much of a freakout, except that I saw it on a first date with someone I barely knew. It was a very quiet ride home afterwards!

My husband’s choice was Looking for Mr. Goodbar. Apparently it was disturbing to a lot of folks, because we couldn’t find it anywhere to watch online, nor even anyplace to buy it cheap.

Well, I take it back. Husband did manage to find us a copy of* Looking for Mr. Goodbar *on Ebay. I suspect he was too schnockered to log in last night.
Funny that we are going to pay to relive what he remembers as an unpleasant experience!

The Telephone with Whoopi Goldberg has the most horrific ending.[/QUO

Isn’t this a comedy?

“Caligula”, starring Malcolm McDowell, as well as featuring other famous names. When I came home from this drivel I told my father “Kick me, I just paid money to see the worst film ever made” Worst scene was when he was dragging his dead sister’s body around.

That would be pretty high on my list of “Worst Date Movies”, up there with In The Company of Men.

That movie is hard to find because of copyright issues. I don’t think it’s ever been issued on DVD, and VHS tapes are few and far between.

Did you know what “Natural Born Killers” was about before you saw it? FTR, I’ve never seen it; however, I did see “The Color Purple” on a first (and last, for other reasons) date. :o

Anyone else here seen “Pink Flamingos”? If you haven’t, DO NOT Google anything related to the plot synopsis on a work computer. :stuck_out_tongue: The best-known scene is the least outrageous thing in it.
