That show I talked about was a result of my horrible fever dreams at the age of 6…humaeast is the same person as me. (It’s like “Rose and Thorn”.) That nightmare about the E.T. poster was one of my other dreams around that age. My deluded nightmares would often have me wake up in a cold sweat, thinking what I saw was real. (This dream was so realistic!) So yes, Metal Machine never happened, and it’s a good thing it didn’t.

That Sesame Street skit is real, though. Look it up.

The name of the show was something like “Special Package” or “Big Secret.” Anyway, the one time I saw it, I thought it was incredibly inappropriate for any imaginable audience.

Anyone remember a live action young teen show from the mid-'90s that involved alien spores in plant pods taking over people’s minds? The pods looked like footballs, or elongated coconuts. There was a lot of green lighting. I think the alien parasites lodged in your neck. A lot of it took place in a school. I think the principal got infected. I want to say it was on Nick, but I can’t find anything about it when I look at listings of Nick programming.

I also thought it could be an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark, Goosebumps, etc. but I’m pretty sure it went at least one season.

This has been bugging me for years because I’ve talked to my friends and come up with some crazy obscure shows we half remember, like Space Cases, Hey Dude, or My Brother and Me, but everyone thinks I’m crazy about the coconut pod people show.

It kind of sounds like the Are You Afraid of the Dark episode “The Tale of the Hatching”…?

What sketches scared you as a kid?

I am sorry for thinking the show in the OP was real, though. It was one of my hallucinations as a child. I used to walk in on my parents watching stuff I shouldn’t have been looking at as a 6-year-old. As Sonic said, “That’s no good!”

BTW, AoStH and SatAM aired on KERA 13 when I was a kid. Weird, right? I think that may have been a dream. But I do know they might, just might, have been on a PBS station. I mentioned that on inthe00s as humaeast.

I thought I was the only person to remember this show…but then I found humaeast (who wrote the post on inthe00s that I quoted). .
