The movie Send Help is a must watch

Just finished the movie Send Help. I’m still thinking about it. Hulu.

I’ll try not to ruin the plot. A woman and her asshole boss are stranded on an island. The woman knows how to survive, the boss is clueless.

They hate each other, but the boss needs her more than she needs him now.

I thought it was a good watch. A lot of Sam Raimi touches in there.

Overall, I wasn’t a huge fan, but I liked the premise and the actors. I really enjoyed the instructional graphics during the final credits.

I loved that she killed her golf loving boss, with a golf club. And then learned golf and went on some sort of golf-pro tour.

And then the Blondie song ‘One way or another (I’m gonna get ya)’ at the end

Put spoilers on your spoiler, or ask a mod to help if you don’t see how. You’re ruining it for anyone you say you think must watch. Why on earth would you post the ending???

Spoiler tags added.

Wow, sorry. I screwed that up. Was just thinking about the movie.

Well, tbh, now that I now it has a happy ending I’ll go check it out!

It’s a pretty fun movie. I don’t know if I am head over heels about it, but I have seen it twice and as much as anything, it is a GOOD thing to have Sam Raimi doing original movies again. Give this man money!

Somebody took the one element of Triangle of Sadness that I really loved and made it the premise for a whole movie.

About 3/4 through it takes a turn I didn’t like, but until then I was into it.

Yeah, I watched the first half, one night and my wife said I must watch the last half, cause it’s a bit different.

I can’t get spoiler tags to work so I’ll leave it at that.

There is nothing new under the sun!

I saw this on Instagram and was interested and watched it.

I liked the premise and the initial development, but like many initially decent movies, they start well with hope and promise of a good movie but then they just don’t know how to end. For me that’s what happened here. Not a fan.

Not for me. They were dorky.

Huh. I think they new exactly where the movie was going. Even the final Blondie song. There are hints (not many though) through the movie of where it’s gonna end up.

I need to watch it again.

I think that was part of the point. The main character was completely dorky. But mostly it showed that what we saw was do-able by someone who was a skilled dork.

I’m a programmer (dork).

I was also in search and rescue. Ground pounder. Our primary and first rule was don’t make us rescue you as well.

So I think I understand what you said.

A funny line said in the movie was “Linda? From accounting?”

I watched it last night and wasn’t impressed. For me it wasn’t a bad movie, but it wasn’t all that great either.

There was a really good potential for the dorky accountant to finally get the recognition that she deserved, and the a-hole boss to go through some personal growth or to at least get his comeuppance. Instead, the a-hole remained an a-hole to the end, and the dorky accountant just got more and more unhinged. Instead of rooting for the accountant and being glad that she “won” in the end, the movie ends with the a-hole dead and the evil unlikable accountant “winning”. There was no feeling that she won what she deserved. Instead she was a horrible person who managed to defeat an even more horrible person. There was no satisfaction in the ending.

The thing is, I think the overall plot wasn’t bad. It had a lot of potential, but how they executed it just fell far short of what it could have been.

The plane crash was really hokey too. They could have accomplished everything that they needed to in that scene without making it so unrealistic.

Credit to the lead jerk actor guy. He played the straight-arrow good guy in all the Maze Runner movies and did a great job here as nepotism-douche.

I really enjoyed it as a dark comedy with a twist on an expected trope.

They don’t fall in love, he isn’t redeemed, and she is revealed to be maniacal and manipulative.
