Will it be better than the Muppets ABC show?
So stoked! This is the main reason I paid for a subscription!
Their 2017 show was so funny!
I’m looking forward to it, I hope it is close to the level of excellence of The Muppet Show.
Sometime today the first episode should be available. I’ve seen good reviews so far.
Watched the first three episodes. Pretty good! Better than the 2015 series; they’re not trying to shoehorn the characters into a sitcom.
The Muppets’ schtick is most effective in short vignettes, and this format plays to that strength the same way The Muppet Show did. It really captures the insanity and absurdity that has always been the group’s hallmark. If it had musical segments, it would be a perfect update of the classic show, but I’m kind of glad it doesn’t; I really don’t need to hear Gonzo rap.
