The Mysterious "Naga Dragon"

Apparently, according to some Buddhist lore, on the full moon of the 11th month on the Buddhist calendar, a glowing dragon’s spirit/energy/something rises from the Mekong River at a specific juncture in Thailand, called the “Naga Dragon.” There has been investigation into this phenomena, but apparently no satisfying conclusion has been reached, so far as I can tell.

My dual questions:

-What, most likely, is this?

-And, secondly, I read it has been filmed. Can I find this anywhere online? Much thanks in advance.

Here is a link to a NY Times article on the event.

Oh, this one’s so easy, **Daoloth
**!

They caught it and Thailand is using its pelt to make cheap wallets.

Hey, just because I invoked horrible pun doesn’t mean this question shouldn’t be answered.

My guess–and it is only a guess–is that the seasonal ebb and flow of the Mekong somehow makes the release of will-o-the-wisps predictable.

Art Bell fans will probably not appreciate such speculation.

It was the… uhh… solar flare… reflecting off of the swamp gasses…

(OK, how can the MiB admit its actually a Beta Centaurian named Fred?)

Fortean Times did a story this month on the (flesh and blood) Naga Dragons and the yearly river lights. The author thought that local fireworks were the real cause of the lights, in order to lure in the tourists.
