I think I have puzzled not only my family doctor but my urologist as well. I started feeling kind of “You know, I might have a kidney stone,” back at the end of October. Started feeling worse, so I went to a local “doc in the box” place and got a diagnosis of “Well, it could be a UTI or a kidney stone, but since the x-ray didn’t show anything, we’ll treat it as a UTI.”
2 rounds of antibiotics later and still not feeling right, I called my family doctor and told her what was up. She scheduled me for a CT scan last week and the next day, I got a call from her telling me that yes, there was a small stone right near my left kidney and that I needed to get my butt to a urologist like NOW. So off today I went for another x-ray, then to see the doctor.
THE LITTLE BUGGER IS GONE. It’s either hiding over my pelvic bone, or it’s vacated the premises. Between that and not having the biggest symptom [excrutiating pain], just a general feeling of “Meh,” I have confused everyone. I think I passed it but I’m still kind of “meh.” Thankfully the doc was a nice fellow, had a great sense of humor and told me to come back in 4 weeks to see what was going on, if anything.
Thank Og however I haven’t gone thru the pain and I hope not to, ever. Having a woman tell you that childbirth was a breeze compared to passing a stone makes me tell myself that I’m doing fine…
