The Never-ending NBA Playoffs

That 3 by Fish might have been the dagger.

Way to throw a game away guys.

Fish.

They took too long on that inbounds anyway.

I think THAT was the dagger by Gasol right there. Magic have play the shoot and foul game now.

What the fuck? Kobe can throw elbows three feet from the official now? Jameer went down like a ton of bricks and nobody said a damn thing.

One lucky rebound by Gasol pretty much does it for the series.

ballgame

Nelson kind of lost his cool right there. There was no reason to foul Gasol, but I guess there was no reason for Gasol to dunk it either. The gane was over. He should have dribbled it out.

Which makes up for Howard tackling Pau earlier. 18 foul shots in the 4th compared to zero for the Lakers and you complain about the officiating?

Wow, 2 games they could have won but didn’t. Series over now.

Anybody see Orlando taking two in LA? I think they might win on sunday out of pride, and because the Lakers will probably relax a lot, but I don’t see this going more than 6.

The funny thing is, watching the games it feels like Orlando has outplayed the Lakers every game but the Game 1 blowout, yet here they are down 3-1.

Everybody was skirmishing all over the place. It’s overtime. You want the officials to swallow their whistles in OT. I think it was a fairly evenly called game.

Yeah pretty much, both those loses were all about turnovers and missed free throws.

Orlando has been playing great defense in general. Then can only win with a monster offensive game like in Game 3.

You mean Pietras, right?
And that offensive elbow by Kobe was ridiculous, that should’ve been a flagrant!
Is it me, or are these officials awful? Phil Jackson admitted that Courtney’s layup in game 2 was goaltended, and tonight was just horrible calls and non-calls on both teams.

Watching ESPN, I see that was Pietrus that went after Pao, not Nelson. I don’t know why I thought it was Nelson.

See that’s where I disagree. It should be called the same in the first minute as it is in the last minute. It’s like they decide to reign in the game and call ticky-tack fouls while letting them play at other times. I hate all the fouls regardless of whom it’s on, but if you are going to call a lot of them, call them consistently. And I am not referring to consistency as it relates to calling them on one team versus calling them on the other team. I am talking across the board.

Why can guards get away with charging into a defensive player with their shoulder, then fade away, hit a shot, and then go to the free throw line when if a center lowers his shoulder it’s an offensive foul?

This makes me remember why I quit watching the NBA.

The Magic lost at the FT line.

They shot 17 more FTs than the Lakers… but missed 15 of them.

I have long since realized that it is impossible to ref basketball. This series is no better or worse in that respect than any other.

Congrats Dwight, this one’s on you buddy.

Good lord, the fact that ANYONE in the NBA can’t hit a simple free throw is beyond me. They should be free points for crying out loud.

It figures the Magic’s shooting would go cold and Van Gundy would start making dumb coaching moves after playing out of their minds and crushing the hopes of yet another Cleveland team.

Thanks a lot Orlando, you goddamned frauds.
